  • Patent number: 10257731
Abstract: For determining operational status of components of a wireless signal transmission environment, a signal is received from a client power receiver (CPR), and at least one waveform characteristic value of the signal is calculated. Based on the determined waveform characteristic value(s), a current transceiver system operational status is computed for the CPR at a current location. The determined current transceiver system operational status is compared with a prior-stored last known good transceiver system operational status for the CPR at the current location, and it is determined if, as a result of the comparing, the current transceiver system operational status matches the prior-stored last known good transceiver system operational status for the CPR at the current location. Determining a presence or an absence of the match facilitates identifying one of a presence and an absence of: functional problem(s) in: at least one of the transceiver system and the CPR.

  • Patent number: 10217060
Abstract: Optimal enhancement of 3G cellular network capacity utilizes two components of learning and optimization. First, a pair of learning approaches are used to model cellular network capacity measured in terms of total number of users carried and predict breakpoints of cellular towers as a function of network traffic loading. Then, an optimization problem is formulated to maximize network capacity subject to constraints of user quality and predicted breakpoints. Among a number of alternatives, a variant of simulated annealing referred to as Block Coordinated Descent Simulated Annealing (BCDSA) is presented to solve the problem. Performance measurements show that BCDSA algorithm offers dramatically improved algorithmic success rate and the best characteristics in utility, runtime, and confidence range measures compared to other solution alternatives.

  • Patent number: 10149346
Abstract: A method and apparatus for establishing a Voice over LTE (Long Term Evolution) (VoLTE) call in a communication network are provided. After a request for establishing a VoLTE call is received, a user equipment (UE) involved in the VoLTE call that is in LTE coverage can be identified. One or more dummy messages are send to the identified UE after the VoLTE call enters into ringing phase. An interval between successive dummy messages is shorter than a first time period set for determining whether to release radio resource for supporting the VoLTE call in LTE coverage. Sending the dummy message can be stopped if the VoLTE call is answered or is cancelled. As a consequence, time spending on establishing a VoLTE call is shortened and good performance characteristics is achieved, and signallings on networks are reduced.

The processing circuitry is configured to decode a packet received from a second STA via a microwave wireless channel. The packet includes information indicating that a millimeter wave wireless channel is unavailable for communication. A current geographic location and a mobility status for the second STA may be determined based on an authentication message originating from a third STA. The mobility status may indicate whether the second STA is moving or is stationary. The second STA may be authenticated based at least on the mobility status. Upon authenticating the second STA, usage of the millimeter wave wireless channel may be suspended for a pre-determined period of time.

The system centralizes the storage and management of application configuration parameters, and dynamically updates the networked application servers when parameter values are changed at the centralized system. The application servers can subscribe to and receive parameter updates from the centralized system, determine whether the updates are applicable to configuration parameters being used by the application, and implement any such updates. In some embodiments, the centralized system determines which application servers are affected by a particular parameter update, and only transmits data regarding the parameter update to the affected application servers.
