  • Patent number: 11405916
Abstract: A receiver control is configured to receive signal receive level data from a plurality of signal receivers. The receiver control determines if a signal receive level is lower than expected. In response to determining that the signal receive level is lower than expected, it is determined if an alternate signal is available via an alternate signal path. In response to determining that an alternate signal is available, an instruction is transmitted to one of the plurality of signal receivers with an indication that the alternate signal is to be received via the alternate signal path. The receiver control transmits the alternate signal via the alternate signal path to the one of the plurality of signal receivers experiencing lower than expected signal receive levels in one embodiment. The receiver can resume utilizing an original signal via an original signal path when the signal receive level of the original signal returns to expected levels.

Abstract: Techniques for supporting data transmission based on a low-complexity transmission scheme are described. In one design, a first user equipment (UE) generates a first transmission for a single subcarrier assigned to the first UE. The first UE sends the first transmission on the single subcarrier concurrently with a SC-FDMA transmission sent on multiple subcarriers by a second UE. In one design, the first UE generates a continuous sinusoidal signal at a frequency corresponding to the single subcarrier. The first UE modulates the continuous sinusoidal signal with data symbols and reference symbols. In one design, the first transmission includes a cyclic prefix followed by a useful portion in each symbol period and has phase discontinuity at symbol boundary. A base station processes a received signal to recover the first transmission sent by the first UE and the SC-FDMA transmission sent by the second UE.

Abstract: Method, apparatus, and computer program product embodiments are disclosed to setup data path transfer between concurrently operating frequency bands of multiband wireless LAN (WLAN) devices. The embodiments provide an enhancement to the Fast Session Transfer (FST) by introducing a new Information Element (IE) in the Fast Session Transfer (FST) frames to enable negotiating the parameters to be established as a result of switching of at least a portion of the existing data/traffic streams to another frequency band. The new Information Element (IE) includes at least the number of streams being switched and for each stream being switched the stream ID. The new Information Element enables the transmitting and receiving devices to negotiate the connection setup parameters associated with a requested transfer of the operating frequency band.

  • Patent number: 8687722
Abstract: An OFDM wireless communication system with an access point and a plurality of remote user terminals estimates an uplink channel. The access point receives training symbols transmitted by the user terminals. Each training symbol includes pilot symbols associated with phase offset estimation OFDM sub-carriers. The phase offset estimation sub-carriers include subsets of sub-carriers associated with each respective user terminals. Each subset is used exclusively by the associated user terminal during channel estimation. The channel estimation sub-carriers are used by all user terminals. For each terminal the access point estimates symbol-specific phase offsets specific to the user terminal using the received pilot symbols associated with the user specific subset of the phase offset estimation sub-carriers. The access point also estimates the uplink channel using the user-terminal-symbol-specific phase offset estimates and the received symbols.
