  • Patent number: 12145623
Abstract: Example embodiments relate to techniques for providing incremental remote assistance to a vehicle. A computing device initially receives location information from a vehicle that is autonomously navigating to a destination. Based on the location information, the computing device displays a representation of an environment of the vehicle and receives a first input specifying a first waypoint and a second input specifying a second waypoint positioned on the representation of the environment. The computing device is configured to limit a location of the first waypoint based on a first location of the vehicle, and a location of the second waypoint based on a second location of the vehicle or the location of the first waypoint. The computing device can then provide route instructions to the vehicle based on at least the first waypoint or the second waypoint.

  • Patent number: 12117833
Abstract: Systems and methods systems provide for client control over an Autonomous Vehicle (AV). The AV can determine sets of mechanical operations that it can take at a future time. The AV can determine a ranking for each of the sets of mechanical operations, including a first ranked set and at least one second ranked set. Client or user selection can be given a certain score, weight, or other value. The AV can apply the value to the second ranked set to determine an adjusted ranking. If the adjusted ranking outranks a ranking of the first ranked set, then the AV can expose the first ranked set and the second ranked set to a client interface. If the AV receives a selection of the second ranked set, the AV can perform that set of mechanical operations. Otherwise, the AV can perform the first ranked set of mechanical operations.

  • Patent number: 12078509
Abstract: A computer system obtains information describing a geographical area segmented into multiple first clusters serviced by a telecommunications network. Multiple test locations are identified within the first clusters. Each test location is located within a grid of the geographical area. Each first cluster is recursively segmented into multiple second clusters until a difference between a number of test locations within each second cluster and a target number of test locations is less than a threshold number of test locations. A route is generated connecting test locations within each second cluster, using a routing application programming interface for performing drive testing of the telecommunications network. The computer system sends the route to one or more computer devices for performing the drive testing at the test locations in a sequence corresponding to the route.

  • Patent number: 11997756
Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards detecting improbable speeds of a mobile device, which can indicate fraudulent activity with respect to the mobile device. Radio access network events and call detail records are processed to determine when a mobile device “travel jumps” between locations at improbable speeds. Events corresponding to handovers between adjacent cells are filtered out. For events corresponding to changed cell towers that are non-adjacent, further processing is performed to determine the speed of the mobile device travel between the cells. A first speed threshold is selected based on possible air travel (a cell near an airport) or a second non-air travel speed threshold is selected. If the speed of the mobile device exceeds the selected speed threshold, a travel jump is determined. Exceptions can be made for gaps in connectivity due to topography (known inconsistent reception areas) and for a mobile device shutting down and restarting.

Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with control circuitry, wireless transceiver circuitry, and a display. The electronic device may be used to provide information to a user in response to being pointed at a particular object. The control circuitry may determine when the electronic device is pointed at a particular object using wireless control circuitry and/or motion sensor circuitry. In response to determining that the electronic device is pointed at a particular object, the control circuitry may take suitable action. This may include, for example, displaying information about an object when the electronic device is pointed at the object, displaying control icons for electronic equipment when the electronic device is pointed at the electronic equipment, and/or displaying a virtual object when the electronic device is pointed at real world object.

Abstract: A device may receive schedule data identifying schedules of appointments for drivers of vehicles and may receive location data identifying geographical locations of the vehicles. The device may receive traffic data identifying traffic conditions, and may process the received data, with a first model, to determine status data identifying estimated statuses of the appointments. The device may process the received data, with a second model, to generate sets of isochrones for destinations of the appointments, and may calculate, based on the sets of isochrones and the location data, estimated travel time data identifying estimated travel times for the appointments. The device may process the status data, the estimated travel time data, and the schedule data, with a third model, to calculate estimated time of arrival data identifying estimated times of arrival for the appointments, and may perform actions based on the estimated time of arrival data.

Abstract: Systems and methods in accordance with embodiments of the invention can obtain and use a variety of telematics data to classify trips taken by a vehicle. Trip models can be generated based on telematics data captured during the operation of a vehicle. A variety of features of the trip model, such as the timing and/or location of stops made by the vehicle during one or more trips, can be used to classify the trip as a business trip or a personal trip. In several embodiments, machine classifiers are trained to classify features within the trip models based on historical trips that have been classified as business trips or personal trips. A number of trip models can be combined with other driver attributes to classify a particular vehicle and/or driver as engaged with a transportation network company.

  • Patent number: 11902855
Abstract: A mobile device periodically determines its location and compares its location to a set of user-authorized geofenced region definitions. The proximity to any of the geofenced regions, as determines how often the mobile device determines its location (location sampling), and how it handles location information. Initially, when the mobile device is well outside of any of the geofenced regions a low location sampling rate is used. When the mobile device is within any of the geofenced regions, location information is transmitted, generally, to a backend server over a network. When the mobile device is not within any of the geofenced regions, transmission of location information can be inhibited. Further, when the mobile device is within a threshold distance of one of the geofenced regions, the sampling rate can be increased.

  • Patent number: 11887456
Abstract: A method is provided for a parent to determine a geo location of a child and the child may defer the release of their location by providing an affirmative response to the parent, the parent and child each having a network accessible device and the child's device being GPS enabled. The method utilizes a server based application in which the parent may request a response from the child. The application starts a countdown timer and the child must respond to the parent before the timer expires. If the timer expires and the child has not responded, the application attempts to determine the geo location of the child's device and forward any determined location to the parent's device. The method provides a parent peace of mind that they might locate their child in an emergency while providing the child a level of autonomy without feeling that they are constantly being watched.
