Abstract: A system and method of displaying a menu screen in a mobile communication terminal is provided, and includes the steps of dividing a display screen into a predetermined number of areas to display a plurality of menu items in response to a user's menu screen display request, grouping the menu items based on the number of divided screen areas, and displaying the grouped menu items in the divided screen areas, respectively. Accordingly, a user can easily select various menu items of the mobile communication terminal. In addition, when the user wants to see a desired menu item, the user can easily recognize which direction a cursor should be moved, and since menu items can be exchanged group-for-group, the number of user key inputs can be minimized.

  • Patent number: 8983507
Abstract: A private packet network backbone exchange (PPNBE) may include a capability for determining a variable call termination location corresponding to a called party. The PPNBE may directly query one or more data sources administered by a communications service provider other than the provider of the PPNBE to determine a current location to which an originating call is to be terminated, and the PPNBE may provide a “one-hop” call connection between the originating entity and the terminating entity of the call without traversing or communicating with any other exchanges. The PPNBE may re-direct established calls by directly querying the one or more data sources. Multiple data sources administered by one or more other communications service provider may be directly accessed by the PPNBE for call termination and/or re-direction purposes.

  • Patent number: 8983506
Abstract: A system, method and computer-readable medium for enforcing user telecommunication privileges on a per-schedule basis are provided. Enterprise members may have a schedule associated therewith that defines scheduled locations of the users. Telecommunication service privileges may be coordinated with the users' schedules such that communication services are disabled at particular times based on the users' schedules. In other implementations, particular users may have telecommunication services disabled by an administrator in the event of a catastrophe or emergency. By this mechanism, users that are not proximate to a particular catastrophe or emergency area according to the users' schedule may have services disabled while other users that are located more proximate to the emergency may have their telecommunication services enabled.

Abstract: This patent discloses a method to communicate between a femtocell base station and mobile devices. The method may include identifying as an alert group a set of mobile devices presently in communication with the femtocell base station and whose unique identifiers are preregistered with the femtocell base station. A first mobile device and a second mobile device may be in the set of femtocell service region mobile devices. The femtocell base station may receive a call from a third mobile device. If the call is for the second mobile device, then the method may send a paging message from the femtocell base station. The paging message may include a first unique identifier associated with the first mobile device.
