  • Patent number: 9232062
Abstract: Automatic Location Indication (ALI) data is digitally transferred from a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) to a first responder via a web site accessed by the first responder. The web site lists each live E911 call within their jurisdiction, and appends the caller's ALI and/or other location data relative to each call. Preferably the first responders (e.g., police car, paramedic, ambulance, fire truck, etc.) can view not only the emergency caller's information for those E911 calls that they are responding to, but also information about other emergency callers that other first responders are responding to. This facilitates the actual response to individual emergency calls as well as the overall management of multiple responders to multiple emergency calls.

Abstract: A remote station apparatus comprises a transmit/receive circuit that is operable to transmit/receive signals to/from a communications network. A control processor receives signals from the transmit/receive circuit, the signals comprising an audio signal to be provided to a user through a user interface. The control processor is operable to modify the audio signal to shift, compress, and/or amplify one or more frequency bands based on predetermined audio signal modification parameters prior to providing the audio signal to the user interface. The audio signal modification parameters may be determined based on the user's hearing ability and/or preferences.

  • Patent number: 7346321
Abstract: The performance and ease of management of wireless communications environments is improved by a mechanism that enables access points (APs) to perform automatic channel selection. A wireless network can therefore include multiple APs, each of which will automatically choose a channel such that channel usage is optimized. Furthermore, APs can perform automatic power adjustment so that multiple APs can operate on the same channel while minimizing interference with each other. Wireless stations are load balanced across APs so that user bandwidth is optimized. A movement detection scheme provides seamless roaming of stations between APs.

Abstract: The invention concerns a system for transmitting information in a digital radio network system (12) between at least two modes of operation, which may be—a direct mode operation (DMO) between two terminal devices (10.1, 10.2) operating independently of the physical radio network system (21) and—a trunked mode operation (TMO) supporting distribution of network resources and operating in the physical radio network system (21). The transmission takes place with the aid of a special gateway unit (22), wherein the gateway unit (22)—listens to each or to a chosen mode of operation (DMO, TMO),—receives the transmission occurring in one mode of operation (TMO, DMO), and—transmits the received transmission to the other mode of operation (DMO, TMO). The gateway unit (22) is formed of two terminal devices (12.1, 12.2) supporting each mode of operation, and whose data transfer interface (23.3*, 23.

  • Patent number: 6952568
Abstract: The present invention is a novel and improved method for monitoring the real time loading condition in a CDMA wireless communication system. The level of the power control signal is obtained by monitoring, in real time, at the base station the forward link CDMA channel, comparing this measurement to the previously obtained level, and displaying the level of the power control signal as a line which can consist of two parts. The first part can be a solid line the length of which represents the level of the power control signal in real time and the second part can be a dotted line whose length increases slowly and decreases rapidly to indicate that the level of the power control signal is rising. Conversely, a rapid increase and a slow decrease of the length of the dotted line indicates that the level of the power control signal is falling. Color coding can be used to indicate that the level of the power control signal is at or outside an optimum operating range.
