Abstract: A technique for controlling a touch screen device to select an element from a first list using a second list of numbers assigned to each element in the first list. When displayed next to each other, the first and second lists have different respective spacings between their elements. The spacing used in the second list is scaled so all the numbers therein can fit on the display. In operation, the display is touched at an initial touch point. Dragging the finger up the display will pull up the second list at the touch point, while simultaneously pulling up the first list next to it. However, since the spacing is different for each list, the first list can scroll faster and farther than the second list. The entire second list can fit on the display, but the first list scrolls beyond the display limits. The element corresponding to the number under the touch point is highlighted.

  • Patent number: 9703450
Abstract: An electronic device, while in an interaction configuration mode: displays a first user interface that includes a plurality of user interface objects; and, while displaying the first user interface, detects one or more gesture inputs on a touch-sensitive surface. For a respective gesture input, the device determines whether one or more user interface objects of the plurality of user interface objects correspond to the respective gesture input. The device visually distinguishes a first set of user interface objects in the plurality of user interface objects that correspond to the detected one or more gesture inputs from a second set of user interface objects in the plurality of user interface objects that do not correspond to the detected one or more gesture inputs. The device detects an input; and, in response to detecting the input, exits the interaction configuration mode and enters a restricted interaction mode.

  • Patent number: 9698849
Abstract: A portable information device case according to the present invention includes three plate-like members: a holder part for housing a portable information device (smartphone) therein, a cover part for covering the holder part, and an optical panel part including an image-forming optical element (micromirror array) fitted therein in light-transmissive fashion. When these members are combined together to have a predetermined shape, the optical panel part is held in an attitude inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to a display surface of the smartphone. Thus, the case allows selection with ease between a usage form in which an image appearing on the display surface is projected as a spatial image and a storage form in which these members are folded and stacked so that the entire case is made compact. The portable information device case according to the present invention is easy to carry.
