  • Patent number: 10014840
Abstract: An audio reproduction apparatus is shown and includes an amplifier with a power amplification stage having transistors in a push-pull arrangement. A bias generator biases the transistors with a standing current. A processor receives a data stream comprising digital samples of an analog audio signal and analyzes the peak level of each group. It then determines the appropriate standing currents to maintain Class A operation of the power amplification stage given the peak levels of each of the groups. A digital to analog converter produces an analog input signal for the input stage of the amplifier from the data stream. A feedforward path between the processor and the bias generator allows the standing current to be adjusted prior to the arrival of the analog input signal in the power amplification stage.

Abstract: A wireless network can include one or more nodes distributed throughout a physical environment. The locations of client devices within the wireless network can be determined based on observing measurements of wireless signals exchanged between the nodes and the client devices. In some example embodiments, the capability of determining location information of client devices more accurately can be utilized for enhancing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) functions. In an example embodiment, a phone call can be intelligently routed to where the user is located within the wireless network. In another example embodiment, the volume of a VoIP-enabled client device can be adjusted depending on the proximity of other users.

Abstract: A charging coil generates induced electromotive force by interlinkage of a magnetic field from an external charger coil with the charging coil. A battery is to be charged with the induced electromotive force. A display includes a display region. A position that coincides with the center of the charging coil is located inside an outline of the display region in plan view. When the battery is charged with the induced electromotive force in a first mode that shuts off a supply of direct-current voltage from the battery to the display, at least one processor supplies the direct-current voltage to the display, and displays, in the display region, a first charging screen including first information that indicates the center of the charging coil in the position. The at least one processor ends the display of the first charging screen after a lapse of a predetermined period of time.

Abstract: The disclosure includes a system and method for detecting fine grain copresence between users. The system includes a processor and a memory storing instructions that when executed cause the system to receive user input regarding copresence detection settings for a first user device, the copresence detection settings comprising a location and/or a user access control list, and determine a current location of the first user device. The system may determine whether copresence detection of the first user device is enabled at the current location based on the copresence detection settings and the current location. Based on determining that copresence detection is enabled, the system may refine copresence and perform an action based on fine grain copresence of the first and second user device.

  • Patent number: 9726749
Abstract: The present invention is for a system and method for determining the proximity of a mobile device to a location without the use of a satellite based or other location awareness system, nor a stationary beacon of any kind. Instead, the mobile device monitors radio frequency broadcast identification codes from nearby mobile devices, and determines if the set of detected identification codes is sufficiently similar to a weighted set of identification codes attributed to specified location. If the calculation of similarity meets the confidence conditions of the system, notification is made that the customer or visitor has arrived. The invention utilizes a combination of confidence interval computation, machine learning, and fault tolerance mechanisms to optimize the success of correctly detecting that the device is near the relevant location.
