  • Patent number: 12028796
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for a WLAN device to select an operating dynamic frequency selection (DFS) channel that minimizes the probability of radar interference by using aiding information. The aiding information may be a crowd-sourced database of geo-tagged radar zones including one or more DFS channels used within the geo-tagged radar zones that are detected by a plurality of WLAN devices. The WLAN device may query the crowd-sourced database for a geo-tagged radar zone that is nearby to determine if a radar operates on an overlapping DFS channel so it may switch to a different channel. In one aspect, the aiding information may be periodic special action frames broadcast by a WLAN beaconing device over the operating channel of the WLAN device. The special action frames may carry information on one or more channels used by a near-by radar and recommended alternative channels to use by the WLAN device.

A second RN is selected from among the plurality of RNs. A second of the plurality of channels is assigned to the second RN. The second channel is selected such that a metric reflective of an information carrying capacity of the RNs that have already been assigned one of the plurality of channels is maximized. The assigned channels are allocated to the respective RNs to which they have been assigned.

Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards reducing the complexity for finding the precoding matrix index/rank information channel state information in New Radio wireless systems. Described is using the beam characteristics of X1 (wideband component index) and X2 (subband component index) such that a user equipment first determines a best chosen X2 for only one X1 index. Thereafter, the user equipment uses the chosen index of X2 for the other X1 indices, thereby reducing the complexity of the precoding matrix index/rank information search by reducing the search space in the codebook, which reduces the number of computations at the user equipment side without significantly impacting the performance.

Abstract: Described features are directed to staggered frequency channel changing for cells of spectrum sharing networks. In some examples users communicating on one or more frequency channels of a spectrum sharing network may receive an indication that those channels are to be vacated, for example that the frequency channels are not to be transmitted on, or otherwise used for communications. Cells of the spectrum sharing network may receive the indication and perform staggered (e.g., sequential or randomly-timed) channel changes. The staggered channel changes may facilitate handover of user devices of the spectrum sharing network by, for example, reducing a number of cells that are simultaneously undergoing a channel change procedure. Thus, staggered frequency channel changing may reduce user service interruptions and radio link failures in a spectrum sharing network.
