Flail Machine Patents (Class 460/61)
  • Patent number: 11684008
Abstract: The invention relates to a root crop harvester in the form of a potato harvester (1), comprising a lifting device (2), from which a crop material (E) and also a mixture (G) comprising clods, weeds and similar admixtures (B) can be displaced in the region of screen belts (3) which are arranged downstream thereof. According to the invention, the mixture (G) lying on one of the feed belts (4) reaches a sorting zone, where the crop material (E) is sorted by means of a separating device (6) that is arranged above the feed belt (4) and is acting on the mixture (G) transversely to the direction of feed of the feed belt, in such a manner that two scraper belts (8, 9), which are circulating in the same direction in a scraping direction (7, 7?), capture the crop material (E) by means of respective scraper elements (10, 10; 11, 11?), and feed said crop material in two adjacently arranged scraping planes (12, 13) to a sorting belt (14) that is arranged downstream thereof.

  • Patent number: 9049812
Abstract: A vegetation removal device including a shaft that has a helix attached to the shaft's first curved end. When the helix is placed within proximity of unwanted vegetation and rotated radially, the helix will entangle the vegetation and remove it from the soil. In one embodiment, the shaft comprises a second end that is configured to be attached to an electronic device, which allows users to easily rotate the shaft and helix.

Abstract: A threshing device includes a threshing part with a rotatable unit which includes at least a flail and a concave which surrounds the rotatable unit. The concave is rotatably arranged in an opposite direction in relation to the rotatable unit. The threshing device includes a cleaning part with a rotatably mounted sieve, which surrounds the concave. A fan is arranged to provide an air stream towards the sieve for preventing the cleaned parts of the threshed material to pass through the sieve. The air stream is also arranged to transport out the cleaned parts which are collected in a space between the sieve and the concave.

  • Patent number: 8375826
Abstract: A rotary element and a rotary element balancing system of a combine harvester. The rotary element includes a rotary member that rotates during operation and one or more blade mount assemblies. The rotary element also includes one or more auto-balance assemblies mounted to the rotary member to compensate for a mass offset on the rotary element due to the one or more blade mount assemblies being dislodged or broken. The one or more auto-balance assemblies include one or more tracks and one or more spheres located inside the one or more tracks and in contact with first and second bearing race edges. Loads are transferred from at least one of the first bearing race edge and the second bearing race edge, when the rotary member rotates, to the one or more spheres that self-align within the track to compensate for the mass offset on the rotary element.

  • Patent number: 5851145
Abstract: A hand portable grain threshing device includes a base, a reel with elongate paddle members, a mesh screen mounted over the top of the reel, a trough and collection member for collecting grain heads or kernels, a variable speed actuator for rotating the reel which cuts the stems of crop plants below the grain heads and which centrifuges the grain heads into the trough, and a blower unit for blowing the chaff out of the threshing device and moving the grain heads into the collection member. The user carries this threshing device into a field and holds this device upon the crop plants with the crop plants extending upward within the device, and the paddle members in cooperation with the front edge of the base cuts off the stems below the grain heads which are centrifuged about the interior side of the mesh screen into the trough and into the collection member for the user to test the amount of moisture in the grain heads.

  • Patent number: 5106340
Abstract: A field thrasher includes a housing assembly and a thrashing assembly. The housing assembly includes an upper thrashing enclosure with a mouth opening and a chaffe discharge opening. A lower, collection enclosure is mounted below the thrashing enclosure and includes a grain discharge opening, an air discharge opening and a chaffe discharge opening. A spout is mounted on the thrashing enclosure in communication with the mouth opening. The thrashing assembly includes a flail subassembly comprising a rotor shaft rotatably mounted in the thrashing enclosure and tines extending outwardly from the rotor shaft. A drive subassembly includes a motor drivingly coupled to the rotor shaft and mounted on top of the thrashing enclosure. A fan subassembly is mounted in a fan compartment at an upper end of the thrashing enclosure and provides an airflow through the housing.

  • Patent number: 4904224
Abstract: A harvesting machine for feeding seed plants such as grain into the machine includes a threshing unit and a sieve set for threshing the seed plant and for separating the seeds from the rest of the vegetable material. The seeds are removed from the machine and the residual vegetable material is removed. The threshing unit includes a drum and beaters or flails. The drum is conical and is fitted in the apparatus in a vertical position so that it widens from the bottom towards the top, and the flails are installed on the outer surface of the drum. The sieve set is formed of at least two sieves which are at least partly conical and are nested and a threshing space is located in between the drum and the sieve set. An outer shroud is conical, and the threshing unit and the sieve set are fitted inside the shroud and in between the sieve set and the shroud there is a collecting bin for the seeds and an opening is provided for removing them.
