  • Patent number: 10344805
Abstract: In example embodiments, a discrete torque limiter is described that includes a first cylindrical member including grooves along a longitudinal surface of the first cylindrical member. The discrete torque limiter includes a second cylindrical member arranged concentrically with the first cylindrical member. The second cylindrical member can be adapted to move independently around the first cylindrical member. The second cylindrical member can include flexural spokes with teeth that engage the grooves along the first cylindrical member when no torque is applied and that disengage from the grooves when a torque that exceeds a threshold torque is applied to the first cylindrical member or second cylindrical member.

  • Patent number: 10316867
Abstract: A rotary actuator includes a central housing; an output shaft that extends through the central housing; a vane that is mechanically coupled to the output shaft and divides the central housing into a first chamber and a second chamber; and a flow control mechanism that is moveable within the central housing and including a high pressure port and a low pressure port for communicating hydraulic fluid into and from the first and second chambers. The flow control mechanism is moveable to position the high pressure port and low pressure port relative to the first chamber and the second chamber for communication of the hydraulic fluid, thereby generating a pressure differential across the chambers. The vane rotates within the central housing in response to the pressure differential, and rotation of the vane drives the output shaft. A motor is configured to receive control signals to drive the movement of the flow control mechanism.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for generating limit torque, which generates a rotational displacement to protect a rotating device and automatically returns to the initial position when an external force is eliminated, and a rotating device using the same. The device includes a flexible member that is vertically connected to a rotating shaft and of which the length can be varied in an inward and outward direction with respect to the rotating shaft; an elastic member that is connected to the flexible member and causes the flexible member to receive an elastic force in the outward direction with respect to the rotating shaft; and a cam member that is rotatably connected to the rotating shaft and delivers a rotating force of the rotating shaft to a rotating member. The cam member has a through-hole in which a rotational displacement is generated and through which the flexible member returns to the initial position.

Abstract: A plastic slip clutch for an adjustable drive in an automobile includes a hub (3) which exhibits an inner profile (4), and a shaft (1) which exhibits an outer profile (2). For the purpose of transmitting torque, the shaft with the outer profile is introduced into the inner profile of the hub in form-fitting and force-fitting fashion. The inner profile (4) of the hub (3) exhibits plastic elements (5) for the transmission of force, such that the plastic elements (5) become elastically deformed under the effect of a force exceeding a given threshold force and thereby permit the outer profile (2) of the shaft (1) to slip through inside of the hub (3).

  • Patent number: 7677123
Abstract: An impact absorbing device has fixed discs and rotary discs alternately and coaxially disposed. Each disc has two surfaces, and two surfaces of each pair of fixed and rotary discs face each other through a lubricant. Each surface has dimples, respectively, surrounded by concave portions. A position of each dimple in the rotary discs is differentiated from a position of any dimple of the fixed discs in a radial direction of the discs. In response to an impact given to the rotary discs, the rotary discs are rotated on the fixed discs against a frictional force between the discs to absorb the impact. During this rotation, each dimple of the rotary discs is moved along a circumferential direction of the discs, and no concave portions of the rotary discs are placed just on the concave portions of the fixed discs.
