Material Infeed Means Patents (Class 470/176)
  • Patent number: 10997998
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a tape embedded drive having the spindles upon which the tape reels are disposed, fixedly coupled at both the bottom and the top to ensure stability of the reels. Furthermore, an additional cover over the spindle can be used to secure the top coupling mechanism and the spindle to the tape embedded drive enclosure to provide additional stability. A sealing cover is then placed over the additional cover to tightly seal the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 10916271
Abstract: An approach to a reduced-head hard disk drive (HDD) includes a load/unload (LUL) ramp subsystem that includes a translatable ramp assembly that includes a biasing member and a magnet coupled thereto, which is magnetically engaged with a guide post to provide a bias force at an interface of a lead screw and the ramp assembly. The bias force acts upon the interface by reducing a gap between outer threads of the lead screw and inner threads of a mating threaded interface structure of the ramp assembly that would otherwise cause lead screw hysteresis without the bias force.

  • Patent number: 7308816
Abstract: A forming machine includes a first transmission mechanism connected to a cutting mechanism and a conveying clamp mechanism, a drive mechanism for driving the first transmission mechanism; and a second transmission mechanism driven by the drive mechanism for driving a feeding mechanism. The second transmission mechanism includes a driven wheel driven by the drive mechanism, a first swing member connected to the feeding mechanism and confronting the driven wheel, an eccentric pin projecting axially from the driven wheel and connected slidably to the first swing member. The eccentric pin slides relative to the first swing member while rotating along with the driven wheel so that the first swing member is swung to and fro in a cycle motion and completes one cycle for each revolution of the eccentric pin.

  • Patent number: 7204121
Abstract: A method for inserting blanks to be threaded in automatic rotary rolling machines, in which the step for inserting parts to be machined in the working position occurs at an adjustable, optimized rate, so that the portions of the outer surface of the roller tool affected by contact with the parts that have been inserted vary continuously at each turn of the spindle. This provides a significant reduction in surface wear of the roller, extending its useful life. The invention also relates to an automatic rotary rolling machine.

  • Patent number: 6662612
Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatus and process for roll forming a fillet at the juncture of the shank and head of a pin type fastener. The process and apparatus can be preset to perform the fillet rolling at selected parameters and to monitor the parameters for providing parts with uniformly rolled fillets.

  • Patent number: 6089985
Abstract: A fastener sorting apparatus is configured to mount on a fastener forming machine and to shunt bent workpieces through a wastegate of the fastener forming machine when the bent workpieces contact a detection ring. The detection ring is electrically-conductive and is coaxially aligned with a part gripper of the forming machine. The ring has an inner diameter slightly larger than an outer diameter of a series of workpieces to be sorted. Either the ring or the gripper are moved so that a workpiece held in the gripper passes through the ring. If the workpiece is bent beyond acceptable limits it will contact the ring, closing an electrical circuit. Closing of the circuit causes a workpiece diverter to shunt the workpieces through the wastegate.

  • Patent number: 6017275
Abstract: Apparatus for inserting elongate members axially into receiving means has elongate member supply means to support and supply the elongate members continuously side-by-side substantially upright in a line. Indexed means serves to supply the receiving means relative to a delivery position and associated delivery means for insertion of the elongate members at least partially into the receiving means. A rotary indexed transfer wheel has spaced edge slots to receive and retain the elongate members in transferring said elongate members between the supply means therefor and said delivery position.

  • Patent number: 5836826
Abstract: A machine makes nails having a star-shaped transverse cross-section by sequentially feeding conventional nails into a form roller station defined by a plurality of form rollers that are radially arrayed with respect to a centerline of the nails. Circumferentially spaced notches formed about the periphery of each form roller engage the heads of the conventional nails as the form rollers rotate and pull the nails into forming relation with the form rollers. The notches also prevent formation of the nail heads. A plurality of circumferentially spaced concavities formed in the form rollers prevents forming of the work-hardened points of the nails. The nails are sequentially delivered from a bowl feeder to an indexer that inverts the nails. A pair of rotatably mounted augers transfer the nails from the indexer to a nail-gripping device that holds each nail until its head is engaged by the nail-engaging notch in each of the form rollers.
