Having Chaser Cutter Patents (Class 470/80)
  • Patent number: 7862441
Abstract: The die has a bore that is generally sized to fit onto a like-sized stud. Threads are formed on the interior of the bore for cutting the threads on the stud. The die includes an integrated alignment mechanism to ensure that the die is aligned with respect to the stud as the die is rotated onto the stud.

  • Patent number: 7625291
Abstract: There is provided a tool for repair of damaged threads of screws, including a body (2) having a projecting portion (4) for accommodating a screw to be repaired and having two recessed major surfaces; two blades (6, 6?), each having a rear end (32, 32?) hingedly articulated in the body (2) and front end in the shape of a cutting face (46, 46?) substantially fitting the type of thread to be repaired: means (10, 12) to alter the distance between the cutting faces (46, 46?) and the projecting portion (4) to accommodate screws of different diameters, and wherein the rear ends (32, 32?) of the blades (6, 6?) are configured in such a way that they are capable of serving as pivots, whereby the blades (6, 6?) are hingedly articulated to the body (2).

  • Patent number: 7241086
Abstract: A thread cutter for pipe ends has a tool head rotating coaxially with respect to a fixedly clamped pipe end and provided at tool holders in the form of radial sliders. Actuators which are parallel to the rotation axis are mounted on a frame shiftable with respect to the head for synchronously radially displacing the sliders and gears mesh with racks of neighboring sliders. The gears are formed with an integrated centrifugal force balancing system.

  • Patent number: 5871403
Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for forming dual synchronized threads on the interior and exterior cylindrical portions of a tube or pipe, and in the inner and outer cylindrical surfaces of an annular channel formed in an object. The method for producing dual synchronized threads includes initially defining a rotational zero point on the object where the first set of threads is to begin, cutting or forming the first set of threads, determining a rotational zero point on the object where the second set of threads is to begin, the second rotational zero point being relative to the first rotational zero point, and cutting or forming the second set of threads with the same lead as the first so that the two sets of threads will be synchronized and their starting points will be in some specified relationship to each other. An apparatus is also disclosed for cutting dual synchronized threads, the apparatus comprising a combination tap and die for simultaneously cutting dual threads on and in an object.

  • Patent number: 5797802
Abstract: A fast-acting die head that is particularly well-suited for use with small-size workpieces employs a set of chasers, each formed as a single piece and having a nose portion that provides two force-receiving surface elements. One of the surface elements is disposed to coact with a camming ring, which is moved axially thereover to close the chasers radially upon the workpiece; the other, underlying surface element receives the force of a spring-loaded plunger, which acts to thrust the associated chaser to an open position when the closing force of the camming ring is removed.
