  • Patent number: 6146284
Abstract: A golf putting green apparatus comprises an elongate putting green surface flexible panel supported on spaced apart elongate side members which are pivotally mounted at an intermediate portion on first support legs. The side members are supported at a putting off end of the apparatus on independently height adjustable second support legs so that as the putting-off end of each side support member is raised or lowered an opposite cantilevered hole end of the side support member is lowered or raised respectively.

  • Patent number: 6050901
Abstract: A modular putting surface apparatus for creating an adjustable putting surface. Each module comprises a frame, a first and second end member, a center members and two surface members connecting the center member and the end members. The center member is adjustable up and down at each end to create a complex curved surface. Multiple independent support members allow the surface area to be sufficiently flexible so as to be adjustable and simultaneously rigid enough to support humans walking on the surface. Multiple modules are interconnected to for a larger putting surface. The entire surface area is covered with a cover material chosen for its putting characteristics so as to simulate putting on grass.

  • Patent number: 5863256
Abstract: A portable putting surface is formed of a plurality of separate panels each having opposite left and right side rails removably secured thereto. The side rails in turn have mating ends which are used to assemble the panels into a continuous surface. A continuous length of artificial grass or turf material (e. g., Astroturf, tm) is used to cover the panels to form a reasonably realistic putting surface. The side rails each include a slope adjusting screw, thus enabling the left and right sides of the surface, and different panels of the surface, to be adjusted independently of one another in infinitesimally small increments as desired. The present putting surface may be used to simulate side hill lies on a sloping green, and/or may be used to duplicate very closely the slope of any particular green, from any approach direction. The surface assembles and disassembles easily in a matter of a minute or so, and may be packed into an extremely small package for shipment or storage, as desired.

  • Patent number: 5586941
Abstract: A golf putting practice device is provided which will enable a golfer to practice putts of varying distances in a small area. The device includes a base, a height indicator arm hingedly connected to the base, and a relatively short track (e.g., 6-7') along which a golfer putts. The track may be elevated at one end to a desired height and secured at that height to the height indicator arm. The height indicator arm is calibrated for the length of the track and the various heights to which the track is raised, such that when the track is raised to a certain height (e.g., 2'), a practice putt on the device will correspond to a putt of a desired distance (e.g., 30') on an actual putting green. The surface of the track can be altered to simulate a dry putting green or a wet putting green. Varying putting green conditions, i.e., varying frictional forces exerted against the ball by the putting green, can also be varied simply by varying the height to which the track is raised.

  • Patent number: 5580320
Abstract: An artificial golf green is designed for use at driving ranges. The target green structure is formed at an incline to provide users of the golf range the appearance of a much larger target surface due to the perspective effects when viewing an inclined object from a distance. The construction of the target green is sectional to facilitate transportation. The landing surface includes artificial turf and an energy absorbing pad for more realistic performance.

  • Patent number: 5564706
Abstract: A practice putting green has an upper surface of material which simulates the green of a golf course and a support which raises the material of the upper surface upon which the practice putting green is positioned. The practice putting green has a generally rectangular shape with long and short sides, and to simulate the slope of a putting green, a support under one of the long sides of the upper surfaces raises that long side of the upper surface to a higher elevation above the underlying surface than the opposing long side. One or more wedges are also provided which may be positioned below the support to create a more uneven playing surface.

A cup for receiving a golf ball is mounted under a hole formed in the upper putting surface of at least one of the platform sections. Support brackets are detachably secured to a lower edge of the side walls for supporting the platform sections on a support surface. A bracket connecting element is provided for interconnecting the brackets, and therefore the platform sections. The support brackets have height adjusting elements to align the upper putting surface of adjacent platform sections in a substantially common plane.
