Gravity Patents (Class 473/184)
  • Patent number: 10549162
Abstract: A gravity-powered golf putting ramp configured to receive a golf ball in motion in a first direction, guide the golf ball using an arced ramp in a second direction that increases gravitational potential energy, and guides the golf ball in a third direction that is substantially the opposite the first direction. The gravity-powered golf putting ramp includes: a planar base that supports the gravity-powered golf putting ramp when it is placed on a planar surface; a leading edge connected to the planar base, the leading edge having a small height relative to a width of the leading edge; a putting arc configured to receive a golf ball in motion, the putting arc connected to the leading edge and oriented in a direction substantially similar to the planar base.

  • Patent number: 10493347
Abstract: A putting target is disclosed which visually replicates a golf hole and reliably returns a golf ball to the putting location. The putting target includes a lip, a ramp and an angled wall segment. The ramp includes a concaved surface defined by a quadratic spline in each of a longitudinal (x-z) plane and a lateral (y-z) plane and a rim circumscribing the concaved face. An angled wall segment extends from the rim and terminates at a bottom edge for supporting the ramp at an inclined orientation with respect to the putting surface. An image is applied to at least a portion of the ramp and provides a perspective view of a golf hole along a predetermined line of sight.

  • Patent number: 9457249
Abstract: Embodiments of a sports training device that incorporates structure to facilitate installation and transport. These embodiments include a frame with one or more articulating sections that can change the configuration of the frame. The different configurations can change the dimensions of the sports training device, e.g., reducing the dimensions for transport and increasing the dimensions to match the opening of a goal.

  • Patent number: 6638174
Abstract: An apparatus for golf putting practice including a golf ball return sheet with a trough running from a lower first end of the sheet to an upper second end of the sheet and along a center line. The first end is for locating on a putting surface and a support supports the sheet inclined to the putting surface. The support has an upwardly extending wall to stop a ball, and the ball will then roll back down the trough of the sheet. The upwardly extending wall can also have a small target aperture and semi-circular tongue. The apparatus can be returned to a flat condition for storage purposes.

  • Patent number: 6623371
Abstract: A golf putting training controls golf ball momentum into a delivery site by first absorbing momentum of indeterminate magnitude and thereafter allowing the ball to move along a controlled or sloped path under influence of gravity. As a result, the ball enjoys consistent momentum and alignment upon arrival at the delivery site. The delivery site can be a kick-back device operating more consistently when receiving a ball moving along a consistent approach path and with consistent momentum. The delivery site can also be a golf ball return area whereat a golf ball is desirably returned consistently to a given region thereof.

  • Patent number: 5857919
Abstract: A putting practice device in which the diameter of the ball-receiving cup of the device can be made smaller or larger to sharpen the putting skills of the golfer. Additionally, the ball-receiving copy of the device is designed so that golf balls entering the cup during the practice session will automatically roll outwardly therefrom by force of gravity.

  • Patent number: 5595543
Abstract: A golf putting practice system which is a complete golf putting system to train a golfer in the fine points in putting a golf ball. The putting practice system comprises an elongated putting track and a training device. The putting track is used to simulate a true golf course turf for putting the golf ball. The training device is provided for line of sight for the golfer. The elongated putting track is made from three pieces which comprises a front uphill ramp including a width adjustable channel, a middle uphill ramp and a rear uphill ramp including a cooperating ball return gutter and cup hole. The training device comprises two L-shaped attachment deflection members with two adjustable guide pointers, removably attached to a face of a conventional golf putter.

  • Patent number: 5529304
Abstract: A practice putting range has a runway and an adjacent inclined surface, the runway having a putting runway surface, the putting runway surface in flush abutment with an entrance end to the inclined surface, the entrance end of the inclined surface gently curving upwards towards a raised end of the inclined surface opposed to the entrance end, the raised end having therein an aperature through which a golf ball may drop, a golf ball return chute co-operating with the aperature so as to feed the golf ball dropping through the aperature from beneath the inclined surface onto the runway surface, the chute having a golf ball exit aperture engaging the runway surface and aligned relative to the runway surface so as to direct the golf ball exiting the golf ball exit aperture onto the runway surface to a point on a longitudinal medial line along the runway surface.
