  • Patent number: 12104888
Abstract: A double single beveled broadhead. The double single beveled broadhead includes a first pair of blades. The first pair of blades are in a single plane, are opposite one another, forming a wedge shape and are both single beveled. The double single beveled broadhead also includes a second pair of blades. The second pair of blades are in a single plane, the plane of the second pair of blades is offset relative to plane of the first pair of blades by 90 degrees and are both single beveled. The double single beveled broadhead further includes an attachment, where the attachment allows the double single beveled broadhead to be attached to an arrow shaft.

  • Patent number: 12092443
Abstract: A broadhead generally comprises a body having a plurality of blades defining a proximal end and an opposite distal tip. Each blade has a first side having a first major surface and an opposite second side having a second major surface terminating laterally in a straight lateral edge that terminates distally at a distal point proximal of the distal tip and terminates proximally at a proximal point. For each blade a distal transverse axis is at an angle to a proximal transverse axis such that the first major surface of each blade is sloped distally and the first major surfaces and the lateral edges of the plurality of blades are diverging, whereby the distal tip is twisted relative to the proximal end.

  • Patent number: 12078463
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a one-piece all aluminum broadhead having from 2 to 5 cutting blades, wherein each cutting blade has a tapered thickness wherein the thickness of each blade is from 0.06 inches up to about 0.25 inches immediately behind the cutting edge and a thickness at the base of said blade that is from 1.5 to 2.5 times thicker than the thickness of said blade immediately behind said cutting edge. The broadhead of the invention may be machined as a single component from, for example, bar stock material. One or more steps of the broadhead machining or manufacturing process may be automated, for example by the use of one or more robotic gripping arms. In one embodiment the one-piece all aluminum broadhead has three cutting blades and is hard anodized.

  • Patent number: 12031807
Abstract: The invention is a Mechanical Broadhead with adjustable expansion and related methods for using the mechanical broadhead are disclosed. According to an aspect, a mechanical broadhead includes a body that defines an interior space for holding the blades. The broadhead also includes an expansion adjustment mechanism. The blades each define a protrusion that extends substantially along a length of the body. The rotation of the first blade and the second blade extends in substantially opposing directions. The broadhead also includes a protruding member that prevents reverse rotation. The blade mechanisms comprise a resilient member that engages upon impact for starting rotation of the first and second blades after target penetration. The blade mechanisms comprise a blade tip member that engages after initial rotation for completing rotation. The adjustment feature prevents further rotation of the first and second blade to a desired blade expansion width.

The second ferrule portion can acquire a blocking mode to block a removal opening of a ferrule slot defined in the first ferrule portion so that blade cannot be removed from respective ferrule slots. The second ferrule portion can achieve a removal mode so that the blades can be removed from the slots.

  • Patent number: 10012486
Abstract: Collars are provided for broadheads. In some embodiments, the collars are shock collars with frangible tabs which restrain the blades of an expandable broadhead during flight, stabilizing the flight path of the expandable broadhead. The frangible tabs break off of the shock collar upon impact, allowing the blades of the expandable broadhead to deploy and increase the size of the entrance hole made in the target. In some embodiments, the collars center a ferrule of a broadhead within an insert of an arrow.

  • Patent number: 9903693
Abstract: A broadhead arrowhead has blades that deploy when the arrowhead penetrates a target. The blades extend after the arrowhead has penetrated the target a sufficient distance for a lead edge of the blade to contact the wound made in the target. Before and during flight the extendable blades are held in a retracted position by frictional engagement with a retaining element that remains attached to the arrowhead. The configuration of the extendable blades provides a stable profile when the arrowhead is in flight.

  • Patent number: 9879955
Abstract: An expandable broadhead includes an elongated ferrule and a blade. The ferrule includes a forward ferrule tip and an aft shank operable to connect the broadhead to an arrow shaft. The blade presents an elongated cutting edge that extends along the length of the blade. The blade is shiftably mounted relative to the ferrule to shift into and out of a retracted position where the blade extends alongside the ferrule. The blade extends forwardly beyond the ferrule tip in the retracted position so that the blade presents a forward facing edge of the broadhead.

  • Patent number: 9857153
Abstract: A broadhead with dynamic blades that deploy upon impact with an animal includes a body defining an interior area. A pair of trigger blades is rotatably mounted inside the interior area and movable between an initially deployed configuration extending outwardly away from the side wall and a rotated configuration. A pair of dynamic blades is rotatably mounted inside the interior area and movable between a retracted configuration completely inside the interior area and an extended configuration extending outwardly from the body. A ring associated with the body is slidably movable between a flight configuration positioned proximate the front end of the body that prevents the dynamic blades from moving to the deployed configuration and an actuated configuration displaced from the front end that actuates the trigger blades to move the dynamic blades to the extended configuration.

  • Patent number: 9605933
Abstract: An expandable broadhead includes a number of fixed blades cumulating in a point, with each of the fixed blades having a channel for receiving a cammable deployable expansion blade, with the expansion blade having a slot which cooperates with a fixed retaining pin transverse to the channel that cams the deployable blade outwardly when a forward impact shoulder of the deployable blade strikes a target. This moves the blade relative to the fixed retaining pin and thus cams the deployable blade out to an expanded position for maximum blade cutting edge contact to effectuate maximum damage to the target and a quick kill.
