  • Patent number: 5823905
Abstract: There is provided a mobile member position detection apparatus in which not only high-accuracy detection of a window glass or the like of a power window apparatus but also setting of an initial position being free from cumbersome adjustment can be realized with a simple structure at low cost. In a position detection apparatus, a ring gear is rotated together with a motor output shaft, and a predetermined rotational position is detected by a mobile contact and a fixed contact. In this case, since a projecting portion of a gear base is brought into contact with a contact surface of a base plate to hold the gear base, a difference between loss torque of the gear base and loss torque of the ring gear increases, and a planetary gear is not unnecessarily revolved. Thereafter, when the output shaft is rotated, holding of the carrier by a wave washer is released, and rotation of the output shaft is not transmitted to the ring gear.

Abstract: A ball ramp mechanism having a control ring acting with an actuation ring to apply a clamping force on a driveline clutch during both a vehicle driving mode and a vehicle coast mode using a planetary gearset acting with a one-way clutch between a sun gear and meshing planetary gears to define rotation of the control ring with respect to the actuation ring in a direction tending to further activate the ball ramp mechanism. In the vehicle drive mode the planetary gearset is locked by the one-way clutch and in a vehicle coast mode the one-way clutch releases and the planetary gearset rotates the control ring through a coil pole in a direction to further activate the ball ramp mechanism.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a motor vehicle planetary transmission component for the individual drive of a wheel of a motor vehicle. The planetary transmission component comprises a rotary component of a motor which is mounted with its motor shaft by means of a roller bearing on a support part, which support part simultaneously forms a housing for a planetary transmission. The motor shaft supports, equiaxially with respect to its axis of rotation, a sun wheel which is surrounded by a ring gear held on the support part. Engaged with the sun wheel and the ring gear are planet wheels which are supported axially parallel to the axis of rotation of the motor shaft on a driven shaft part of the planetary transmission. The driven shaft part is supported by means of a single, single-row roller bearing on the support part. An alternative embodiment includes an electric motor (186) which drives a bearing drive member (198), the bearing drive member (198) having a bearing track (200) which receives a plurality of bearing balls (205). The bearing balls (205) engage a fixed bearing track (187) on the housing ( 182) and also a curved surface (202) on a rotatable bearing member (201).

  • Patent number: 4928556
Abstract: A robot arm drive apparatus of an industrial robot comprising: an electric motor having a drive shaft; a first robot member having the electric motor mounted thereon; a second robot member rotatably supported on the first robot member; and reduction gears for reducing rotation of the electric motor and then transmitting to the second robot member; the reduction gears comprising a planetary reduction gear and furthermore an additional reduction gear which is purposely provided so that the number of rotations of the electric motor, at which the resonance of a drive system comprising the electric motor, the second robot member and the reduction gear means occurs, is shifted from a predetermined operational region of the electric motor.

  • Patent number: 4912993
Abstract: A starter includes a speed changing mechanism for transmitting rotational force of an electric motor to a pinion gear capable of being brought into or out of engagement with a ring gear of an engine. The speed changing mechanism includes a geared stepless speed changer. A speed reduction ratio is controlled responsive to a load change by means of an input shaft, an output shaft, and input and output frames rotatable relative to each other about the input shaft. A ratio of angular velocities of the input and output shafts is related to an angle of rotation between the input and output frames.

  • Patent number: 4907474
Abstract: A mechanical torque converting transmission for producing an output with variable, controllable speed and torque characteristics comprises a rotary input shaft adapted for attachment to a rotary power source and connected to a main drive gear. The drive gear is meshed with a plurality of pinion gears which are journaled for rotation on an arm assembly. An eccentric device is driven by each pinion gear for creating a centrifugal force that cyclically urges the arm assembly in alternating forward and backward directions with a pulsating motion during each rotation of each eccentric device. A clutch is provided for allowing forward movement of the arm assembly while preventing movement in the backward direction during each eccentric revolution.

  • Patent number: 4899605
Abstract: In a starter having a planet gear speed reducer in which the front frame is secured to the end face of the motor with penetrating bolts, a cylindrical packing with ears is mounted on an internal gear with the penetrating bolts inserted into the ears so that, when the penetrating bolts are tightened, the ears of the packing are inscribed in the front frame, while sealingly holding the penetrating bolts, and the packing is compressed between the end face of the motor and the flange of the internal gear, thus eliminating the difficulty that water flows down the penetrating bolts into the motor.
