Internal And External Tooth Sets Patents (Class 475/177)
  • Patent number: 5310325
Abstract: A rotary engine having a three apex rotor rotatably and eccentrically mounted on a driven shaft. The rotor having a central internal ring gear meshing with an eccentrically mounted pinion gear. The pinion gear drives the driven shaft with a 1:1 ratio and the eccentricities of the rotor and the pinion gear are of equal magnitude and direction so that the gears stay in contact. The eccentricity of the gears is not fixed with respect to the size of the gears. The pinion gear is fixed on a shaft spaced from the driven shaft and supports the ring gear and the rotor as it is driven by the rotor.

  • Patent number: 5308294
Abstract: A hinge joint which can be installed, for example, between the body supporting portion and the back rest of the seat in a motor vehicle has a first leaf affixed to the body supporting portion, a second leaf affixed to the back rest and a horizontal pintle which pivotally connects the second leaf to the first leaf. The actuating mechanism for pivoting the second leaf comprises a pair of wedge-like sections which are biased apart to bear against the balls and/or needles of one or more antifriction bearings between the first leaf and the sections. The sections flank a motion transmitting member which is moved about the axis of the pintle in order to release the second leaf for angular movement relative to the first leaf. A centering element can be installed next to the sections between the first leaf and a sleeve of the second leaf, and the bearing or bearings can extend between such centering element and the first leaf.

  • Patent number: 5292289
Abstract: A planetary speed-up and -down gearing comprising an external gear having outer teeth (7A) defined by a trochoidal curve and an internal gear having outer pins (9) internally meshed with the outer teeth (7A) of the external gear and being eccentric with respect to the external gear, the external gear and the internal gear being meshed and rotated eccentrically and swingingly relative to each other, so that phases of the external gear and the internal gear are shifted by a difference in the number of teeth between both said gears for each of the eccentric and swinging rotations, to thereby take out, as an output, rotation corresponding to the above difference in phase.

  • Patent number: 5277672
Abstract: The fixed flange with an inner toothing and the mobile flange with an inner toothing cooperate with a double satellite mounted in a ball bearing forming inside a housing for a composite cam. A sufficient excentration is provided between the diameter of the toothings of the double satellite and the intermediate part concentrical to the toothings of the fixed and mobile flanges so as to allow the composite cam made of two symmetrical and identical parts normally separated from one another at their upper portion by a spring which is slightly under tension and at their lower portion by a finger rigidly connected to an intermediate circular part mounted in bearing in the mobile and fixed flanges.

  • Patent number: 5209637
Abstract: In a hypocycloidal train mechanism, an annular spring is mounted in front of a roller bearing housed between a double satellite and a control cam on a face turned toward a mobile flange. This annular spring has a semicircular cross-section, with one end of the spring being curved and hooked inside a cutout of the control cam, while the other end of the spring is free.

  • Patent number: 5145467
Abstract: This geared motor comprises an outlet shaft (2) of the motor (1), carrying two coaxial screws (3, 4) offset axially and of mutually opposed screw pitch, two gearwheels (5, 6) located on either side of the shaft and each interacting with a screw (3, 4), an axle (7, 8) fastened to each gearwheel and extended by a crankpin (9, 11) eccentric relative to the corresponding axle (7, 8) so as to be capable of executing rotations about this axle, an element (12) equipped with a toothing (13) and linked to the crankpins in such a way as, during the rotation of the crankpins, to be driven in a circular translational movement, the radius of which is equal to the eccentricity of the crankpins, and a member (16) equipped with an output shaft (18) connectable to the component to be driven and carrying a toothing (17) interacting with that of the element so as to bring about a rotation of the member (16) in a ratio determined by the difference in the numbers of teeth of the two toothings.

  • Patent number: 5129868
Abstract: A quick-return motion mechanism for use in an automatic magnetic drilling machine including a feed motor for generating power transferred through a worm wheel and a high-ratio reduction gear to a handle shaft to drive an electric drill. A one-way clutch is provided inside the worm wheel so that the handle shaft races on feed and is locked on return. The high-ration reduction gear is composed of elements which are arranged to cause the input and output sides of the high-ratio reduction gear to rotate in the same direction. The quick-return motion mechanism consists of an arrangement for restraining the input side element of the high-ratio reduction gear on feed and for releasing it on return to race the high-ratio reduction gear.

  • Patent number: 5123882
Abstract: A pinion shaft has thereon a sun gear for imparting rotational motion to or to be rotated by a pair of planetary gears which rotate about space axes extending parallel to and lying in a first plane containing the axis of said shaft. Each of a pair of planocentric compound cycloidal discs has an internal set of gear teeth constantly meshing with the teeth of the planetary gears, and an external set of cycloidal teeth engaged with the cylindrical teeth of a ring gear that is rotatable coaxially of the shaft. The cycloidal discs rotate eccentrically about the axis of the shaft, and respectively, about a second pair of axes extending parallel to and equi-spaced from diametrally opposite sides of said shaft, and lying with the axis of the shaft in a second plane that extends normal to the first plane.

  • Patent number: 5066267
Abstract: A transmission for driving a swivel joint between two elements which are rotatable relative to each other. Cam disks are moved by means of a multiple eccentric, each such cam disk having an outer edge in the form of a closed cycloidal path and being arranged so that it can be rolled off in a central wheel in a positive engagement with a gearing formed by pins or the like. A driving element engages by means of driving pins, with the cam disks by way of bores arranged being in it, the driving element being subdivided into two driving disks which, are spaced from one another and from the cam disks at a distance of at least the central wheel and are combined by means of the driving pins, the driving disks and the central wheel being rotatably movable relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 5016491
Abstract: This invention relates to a gear assembly comprising two parallel dual strain wave gears. The moment transmission ability of the gear assembly is relatively high, if the gears are interconnected and they have a common flexspline (2) both ends of which are provided with a dual strain wave gear in such a manner that teeth (3a, 3b) on the outer surface of the flexspline are in meshing engagement with peripheral teeth (4a, 4a) on a first gear member and teeth (5a, 5b) on the inner surface of the flexspline (2) are in meshing engagement with shaft teeth (6a, 6b) on a second gear member. A ring (7) positioned between the teeth serves as a wave generator from which the torsional moment is transmitted into the flexspline through a bearing (8) and either one of the interconnected teeth in meshing engagement with the flexspline teeth may serve as a secondary shaft while the other remains receiving the difference between the secondary and the primary moment.
