In other words, the cycloid speed reducer has four cycloid discs to be contacted with the corresponding rollers. Consequently, the load withstood by each cycloid disc is reduced. Since the cycloid speed reducer has stronger structural strength, the cycloid speed reducer can be applied to the high-load circumstance. Moreover, an eccentric assembly of the eccentric device includes plural eccentric cylinders. The eccentric cylinders are installed within the axle holes of the corresponding cycloid discs. Due to the plural eccentric cylinders, the eccentric direction of two cycloid discs is opposite to the eccentric direction of the other two cycloid discs. • Patent number: 8038562
Abstract: A rotary shaft is provided so as to be coaxial with an inner member which comprises a hub ring and a bearing inner ring. External gears are rotatably provided around eccentric portions formed on the rotary shaft. The external gears mesh with internal teeth formed on the inner periphery of a casing. When the rotary shaft rotates, the external gears mesh with the internal teeth one after another, so that their centers rotate about the axis of the rotary shaft. When the rotary shaft rotates once, the external gears rotate about their own axes by an amount corresponding to the difference in number between the external teeth and the internal teeth. The rotation of the external gears about their axes is transmitted through a torque transmission to the inner member, thereby rotating the inner member at a reduced speed.

  • Patent number: 8033942
Abstract: A parallel eccentric electro-mechanical actuator provides motive power and includes an electric prime mover that drives the reducer's pinion gear. This pinion drives minimum three star gears with stationary shaft bearings. Each shaft contains an eccentric which are completely in parallel with each other. These eccentrics can be thought of as parallel/in-phase driven crankshafts. Each eccentric drives the parallel eccentric (PE) gear through a bearing. The PE gear exhibits a circular motion (without rotation) which in itself is unbalanced. The crankshafts have another eccentric which create an opposite inertia force to balance that of the PE gear. The PE gear contains an external toothed gear on its periphery. It meshes with the internal teeth of the output ring gear. The relative motion between the PE gear and the ring gear is that the PE gear rolls inside the ring gear. This relative motion is called hypo-cycloidal motion.

Abstract: An oscillating internally meshing planetary gear system is provided in order to improve basic performance and reduce cost at the same time. The oscillating internally meshing planetary gear system has an internal gear and external gears internally meshing with the internal gear and is configured such that one of the external gears and the internal gear is oscillatingly rotated by means of eccentric bodies formed in an input shaft (eccentric body shaft). The system includes: a sliding motion-facilitating member intervening between an outer periphery of the eccentric body and the oscillating gear; and an eccentric body shaft bearing supporting the eccentric body shaft. In addition to this, the eccentric body shaft bearing and the sliding motion-facilitating member have the same configuration.

  • Patent number: 7811193
Abstract: A low-noise speed reduction device that is simple in structure, small-sized, and little in energy loss is provided. Two-stage gears, i.e., a large-diameter gear 65 and a small-diameter gear 66 of a third external gear 63 are supported by a supporting shaft 59, and one-stage second external gear 58 that meshes with the small-diameter gear 66 is only attached to an axial one end of a crankshaft 40. Therefore, the axial length of the whole speed reduction device becomes short, and consequently, miniaturization becomes possible. Further, since gears mesh with each other only in two places until a driving force is transmitted to the crankshaft 40 from the first external gear 54, noises can be reduced, and energy loss can also be lowered.

Abstract: A wedge loading mechanism for an eccentric planetary traction drive in which a roller having a flexibly mounted shaft is positioned between two raceways forming a convergent wedge. Rotation of either of the two raceways wedges the roller within the convergent wedge squeezing the roller between the two raceways thereby transmitting rotational motion and torque between the two raceways. The flexibly mounted shaft generates differences between an effective supporting stiffness of the roller and an contact effective stiffness at the points where the roller contacts the two raceways. The difference in the effective stiffness allow the roller to operate efficiently at smaller convergent wedge angles.
