Including One-way Clutch Or Brake Patents (Class 475/307)
  • Patent number: 9109678
Abstract: A multi-ratio transmission system with parallel vertical and coaxial planet gears is provided, including: multiple planet gear sub-systems, a coupling assembly, a setting element, a setting element controller, an annular gear, a cylindrical casing, a sprocket and a central axle. The planet gear sub-systems are disposed coaxially in series along a first axis. Each of the planet gear sub-system includes a sun gear and at least one planet gear. The coupling assembly transmits the rotation between every two adjacent planet gear sub-systems. The setting element optionally engages with the sun gear. The annular gear is installed onto a one-way clutch. The cylindrical casing encloses the planet gear sub-systems. The sprocket is installed onto the planet gear sub-systems through the one-way clutch. The central axle enables the hollowed tube of the setting element controller to rotate around the central axle.

  • Patent number: 8342553
Abstract: A mounting device for a bicycle having a bottom bracket planetary gear system with a sun gear or ring gear, and a bottom bracket shell positioned at the convergence of a plurality of frame parts of a bicycle frame is disclosed herein. The mounting device preferably has a control plate, a drive side bearing flange, a control input and control pawl. The control pawl blocks the sun gear, ring gear or planet carrier of the planetary system of the bicycle transmission thereby transferring the sun gear, ring gear or planet carrier force to the control pawl then to the control plate and then to the bicycle frame.

  • Patent number: 5713813
Abstract: A trans-planetary mechanical torque impeller utilizes at least two sets of input planetary pinion gears of differing sizes, which are supported by a planetary carrier. These input planetary pinion gears rotate with respect to primary and secondary annulus gears which, in turn, drive bevel gears which engage a differential pinion gear to drive an output shaft. The output shaft load causes the torque impeller to automatically vary its gear ratio to match the input shaft or motor power output capability to the output shaft load.

  • Patent number: 5575731
Abstract: A speed changing device for a bicycle includes a tubular shell adapted to be mounted on a bicycle frame of the bicycle, a crank axle extending axially and rotatably through the tubular shell and having two end portions that extend respectively out of the tubular shell, and a gear wheel set disposed in the tubular shell. The gear wheel set includes a connecting shaft extending transversely from an intermediate portion of the crank axle, a driving bevel gear mounted rotatably on the connecting shaft, and first and second driven bevel gears mounted rotatably on the crank axle and disposed respectively on two sides of the connecting shaft. The first and second driven bevel gears mesh respectively with the driving bevel gear, and the first driven bevel gear can be locked selectively to the tubular shell.
