Abstract: An exercise system, in a first mode of operation, provides for strengthening of legs of a user and enhancing the user's ability to develop and maintain balance and, in a second mode of operation, for providing various forms of core, arm, and upper body training. The system includes two resilient hemispheres each having a projecting dome and, on an opposite side, a rigid substantially flat weighted base in relationship about each hemisphere and a circumferential ring is proportioned to engage a periphery of the base of each hemisphere. An outer area of the periphery of each base includes elements with connecting rings secured to the engagement elements. Resistance training bands of selectable resistance are securable to one or plural connecting rings. A push-up handle of each hemisphere is press-fittably securable into an axial recess within the weighted base and selectably connects to different weights within the recess.

The perturbation device is manipulated by a user, person other than the user, or mechanical device to impart linear, rotational or tilting movement, or a combination thereof. The device generally comprises a base, a movable assembly positioned on the based and configured to be stood upon by a user. The movable assembly is movable with respect to the base by a manually manipulated assembly connected to the movable assembly. Manipulation of the device may create linear, rotational, or tilting movement, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 8979722
Abstract: A board apparatus for balance exercises and balance games having a platform that tiltable on a base part, freely rotatable around a vertical axis, and mounted movably along the vertical axis. A restoring part generates restoring forces that counteract motions of the platform and can be modified by the user. The restoring part includes four elastomer springs that are arranged at a distance from the center of the base part. The elastomer springs can be offset inward or outward with respect to the center of the base part, enabling accurate adaptation of the restoring forces. When twisting the platform around the vertical axis, the restoring part always returns the support part into one of two initial positions that are located 180 degree opposite to one another.

  • Patent number: 8888669
Abstract: Exercise apparatus for balance and strength training that enables a user to perform push and pull oriented exercises with the user's hands or feet against the apparatus. Includes a pivot space, for example a slot or area or area with higher or lower areas, wherein the pivot space is configured to couple with a pivot element, for example a ball, cylinder, wheel or any other type of element that may move with respect to the pivot space and exercise interface. The movable pivot element enables force and hence torque required to balance to differ on each side of the apparatus. For example, a user with an injured shoulder may desire to utilize more force to balance during a push-up with the uninjured shoulder and less force and more range of motion to balance with the injured shoulder.
