  • Patent number: 7857737
Abstract: The disclosed device is an oscillating exercise device for strengthening of the muscles comprising the shoulder and the torso. The device is held in the user's hand and moved in an oscillating manner to simulate a sports specific movement or for muscle strengthening. The device is composed of a tube with internally threaded ends, detachable, threaded end caps, hinged clamshell handle, weight mass and elastic resistance bands. The end caps house springs that extend into the tube when screwed to the ends of the tube. The weight is of a diameter such that it may travel freely along the inner length of the tube, yet closely matched to the inner diameter of the tube such that significant air compression occurs in front of the moving weight. The generated air compression slows the velocity of the traveling weight and reduces the shock of the weight when it impacts the springs at the tube ends. An attachable handle allow for improved simulation of sports specific throwing motions.

  • Patent number: 7837602
Abstract: A portable pull-up apparatus may include a plurality of hollow support poles and a plurality of pulley wheel sections. A pull-up bar may further be horizontally placed on top of the support poles. Weights may further be situated within an interior of the support poles. A plurality of cables provided with handles adapted to be gripped by a user may be wrapped about the pulley wheel sections such that the distal ends of the cables are guided inside the support poles respectively. A plurality of selector rods may be through the weight groups. A plurality of anchor pins may be positioned to lock selected weights. Further resistance bands may be situated within the interior of the support poles. In this way, corresponding resistance band groups may cooperate with corresponding weight groups to create a unique tension force opposing vertical displacement of the distal end of the cables respectively.

Abstract: A doorway mounted body exercise apparatus has upper and lower horizontal bars bridging the doorway and carrying respective pulleys and, a rearwardly protruding weight set supporting arm which can be swung between either lateral side to the rear of the doorway to accommodate left and right hand hinged doors and can be retracted into the doorway to permit the door to be completely closed while still mounted. Different cabling arrangements enable the weight set to be used as a counter weight for body weight assistance or additional resistance. An upper frame carrying the upper bar is collapsible for removal and storage or to enable a person to walk through the doorway. The lower bar is hinged at one end to the jamb for swinging up against the jamb so as not to obstruct the doorway when not in use. Footpads on the upper frame enable exercising while hanging upside down.

  • Patent number: 7601100
Abstract: The equipment is considered in paired aspect, one construction for each of the exerciser's hands. In one arrangement, a strapping loop for each is respectively run through both of two tunneled components—a handhold and tethering anchor. To use it, the anchor is positioned on the opposing side at the top of a closed door so as to become trapped in place against the door and its frame. The exerciser grabs the handhold and performs chin-ups or other body suspension exercises by pulling upward along the door's face. A hand bracing assembly is optionally included to cushion the hands from excessive pressure against the door. If desired, the operator may also temporarily adapt the assembly to pull-type exercises.
