Equipment Control Patents (Class 482/4)
  • Patent number: 11262850
Abstract: Via no-handed inputs to a smartwatch, an end-user can initiate various smartwatch operations when either or both hands of the end-user are occupied. The smartwatch includes a suite of sensors for capturing inertial, acoustic, and optical data. The smartwatch also interfaces with a handheld mobile computing device and/or a shoe-mounted pedometry device to capture additional sensor data. A control engine executing on the smartwatch processes captured sensor data and identifies no-handed inputs performed by the end-user. The control engine maps these no-handed inputs to specific commands that can be executed on the smartwatch to initiate smartwatch operations.

Abstract: In a virtual reality environment a user's movements are coupled, meaning the user cannot walk and look in different directions. Discloses are methods and systems for soft decoupling the movements of the user in a virtual reality environment, enabling the user to look and walk in different directions simulating real-world interactions. The soft decoupling is performed by receiving acceleration and orientation data from sensors attached to the user. A heading and a heading delta based on a ratio are calculated. The calculated heading and a velocity are translated into soft decoupling inputs for the virtual reality environment.

A user can fully exercise muscles of the user's body during exercise, and a vibrational effect generated by the eccentric assembly can stimulate acupuncture points of the user's body to improve blood circulation. Left and right pedals of the pedal assembly can be treaded in turn to continuously drive a gear to rotate in a same direction so as to achieve an effect of acceleration and to enhance vibrations.

Abstract: A game system includes a plurality of pedometers. The plurality of step count data respectively counted by the plurality of pedometers are acquired in the game apparatus. In the game apparatus, by utilizing the plurality of step count data, a predetermined arithmetic operation is executed, and the result of the arithmetic operation is reflected on the game. Alternatively, in a server, a predetermined arithmetic operation is executed by utilizing the plurality of step count data, and the result of the arithmetic operation is reflected on the game in the game apparatus. For example, game processing depending on the number of players walking in the same time slot is executed, or game processing according to the totalized value of the accumulated total step count values of the plurality of pedometers is executed.
