  • Patent number: 8419594
Abstract: It is intended to provide a posture-correcting exercise device (10) having a novel structure by which an effect comparable to traction can be easily established without resorting to use a large-scaled apparatus and which can be easily and conveniently operated and yet is expected as achieving effects of, for example, correcting spine distortion and reinforcing muscles supporting the spine to thereby fundamentally reduce the load on the spine when appropriately operated. To solve the above problem, the posture-correcting exercise device (10) has a chin rest portion, on which the chin of a user (34) is placed, at the upper end face and a setting face at the lower end face. The outer periphery of the setting face serves as a tilting face (26) in a curved shape. When the user (34) puts his/her chin on the chin rest portion, the device is tiltable at the setting face.

Abstract: A strap attachment device includes a main body with a lower body end that has an opening suited for a strap. Based on its position, a cam lever at the opening of the lower body end holds or releases the strap, permitting adjustment of the length of the strap that enters the opening. Extending upward from the lower body end is an upper body end that is curved into a hook or any other shape appropriate for connection to an object. A flexible or translatable gate may extend from the main body so as to prevent the upper body end from inadvertently becoming detached from the object. Slip-resistance on the upper body end resists slippage between the upper body end and the object during side-to-side movements. Ends of the strap may include a loop or handle or connect to other devices.

The retaining member is releasably engageable with one of the rings, so that the inelastic strap forms a loop. The connecting member is releasably engaged with one of the rings. The inelastic strap is mounted around a rod or the like or extended through a gap between a door and a door frame, allowing user to perform exercises resisting the weight of the user.

  • Patent number: 8007406
Abstract: A “Complete Body Fitness Machine” that provides for a muscle building workout as well as a cardiovascular workout for the total body consists generally of an adjustable seat and two arms on either side, which are adjustable in height and have an infinitely and independently variable resistance possible in either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation. The arms are designed to have several types of mechanisms attached, so as to be able to work with a variety of body parts including, but not limited to, hands, arms, legs, feet, torso, neck and shoulders. When the proper attachment is used, the resistance for each direction of rotation of the arm is set, and the exercise is conducted. Depending on the workout desired, the seat and arms could be adjusted to different positions as well as the seat can be free-moving.

Abstract: There is provided a device and method of exercise using an isometric gripping device. The device is a lightweight, portable and compact exercise device which enables a user to perform isometric exercises in a manner permitting the user to quantify results and time the length of the isometric contraction. The device is designed for static contractions where there is no visible movement of the device when force is applied. In practice, the device has a grip movement of about 0.020? under contraction. The device comprises a body section with a handle portion grip on each side opposite another, an internal frame assembly with electronic circuitry, power source (e.g. batter operated), a power switch, electronic display, strain gauge bar with attached sensor, and a timing mechanism. The user is able to visually see the level of force on a display screen and set the duration of time of the exercise.

  • Patent number: 7896784
Abstract: A unique apparatus designed to facilitate various types of stretches and exercise routines found in yoga, Pilates, fitness, and rehabilitation. The stride and leg stretching system has a one-size-fits-most design, allowing comfort in operation. The stride and leg stretching system is designed to increase range of motion of the ankle joint in all three clinical planes of motion, while affecting the muscular walking system of the hips, legs, and lower back. The design allows for adjustment based on the preference of the user via a hook and loop fastener strap. The unit has a firm, non-flexible base that prevents the foot from bending, while allowing complete freedom for the ankle joint. The top portion of the foot casing is a soft, flexible material that can accommodate varying foot size comfortably. The pivoting handles allow for a comfortable grip, keeping the muscles relaxed in the upper body, and prevent unwanted torsional forces in the wrist.
