Moves Transversely On Link Patents (Class 49/216)
  • Patent number: 4606146
Abstract: A vehicle door is mounted to move laterally outward on parallel pivoting support arms engaging the door and the vehicle by way of rollers and tracks. The body track is parallel to the vehicle axis and the door. The door is slidably moved rearwardly and is provided with auxiliary support by a retractable and extendible auxiliary support arm moved to the support position so that the rollers enter a track on the door.

  • Patent number: 4559740
Abstract: A slider assembly for an automotive sliding door is more compact than conventional ones. This compact slider assembly can be obtained by overlapping part of one of vertical and horizontal rollers and the plane of the other in order to reduce the distance between the rotational axles thereof. A bracket supporting the rollers is formed with a recess receiving part of one of the rollers. In the preferred structure, the periphery of the recess is essentially concentric to the chosen one of the rollers.

  • Patent number: 4495729
Abstract: A pivotable sliding door with a main track is suspended in a door frame with a running track by a suspension means having two staggerly jointed partial carriages, the rollers of one of the partial carriages rolling in the main track and the rollers of the other partial carriage rolling in the running track.

  • Patent number: 4142327
Abstract: What follows is a description of a three track mechanism assembly for a vehicle door, and in particular for a light rail vehicle door. Each track mechanism includes a guide rail for guiding the door in its opening and closing movement relative to the vehicle body. Two of the track mechanisms include actuators for producing the opening and closing movement of the door. One of these actuators produces the desired longitudinal displacement of the door relative to the vehicle body, while the other actuator produces the desired transverse displacement of the door relative to the vehicle body. In addition, an extraction device can be included with the track mechanism having the actuator producing the desired longitudinal displacement for assisting the other actuator in producing the desired transverse displacement of the door relative to the vehicle body.

  • Patent number: 3935674
Abstract: A sliding vehicle door has a guard beam therein having flanges at its upper and lower edges. An extruded carriage member is associated with each of the flanges and slidably engages the flange to permit longitudinal movement of the guard beam and the door on the carriage member. A hinge arm is associated with each of the extruded carriage members and has one end pivoted to the carriage member and the other end pivoted to a body pillar defining the door opening. An articulating link acts between the body pillar and one of the carriage members to maintain the door in substantial parallel relationship with the vehicle longitudinal axis during pivotal movement of the hinge arms to move the door laterally of the body between a closed position in the plane of the door opening and an open position laterally outboard of the door opening.
