    Abstract: The drive for a sliding door or a swinging-sliding door of a rail vehicle, comprising a guide rail which is fixed inside the rail vehicle and on which a carriage carrying a door leave is arranged in a longitudinally displaceable and optionally rotatable manner, and a spindle drive provided with a spindle which extends parallel to the guide rail and a spindle nut which is connected to the carriage in a fixed manner in the direction of the axis of the spindle. The spindle nut and the carriage are connected by means of a rotative sliding joint.

    Abstract: A screen is provided having overlapping leaves, an upper rail on which the leaves are hung, and a lower rail for guiding the lower ends of the leaves during their sliding movement. A runner element whereby the lower end of an outer one of the leaves is guided with respect to the lower rail, is pivotally displaceable between a first condition in which it engages with the lower rail and a second condition in which it is disengaged from the lower rail, permitting the leaf to swing away from the other leaf. This facilitates cleaning of the leaves in the region where they overlap.

    Abstract: A sliding door assembly for a vehicle body has a first, slidable door hung from an upper slide rail, and this door may be swung from a closed position in a parallel plane with a second door to an open position. The first door is swung between open and closed positions by a hand-operated lever of a lever mechanism; the lever is rotatable about a pivot pin to actuate operating rods to pivot a carriage so that rollers on the carriage rest at 45.degree. to the horizontal when the first door is closed, with an upper part of the circumference of each roller being received in an elongate slot.

The track and latch assembly is operative in combination with a slidable door of the type which is slidably supported adjacent the upper end thereof from a wall so that the door is slidable along the surface of the wall for movement between open and closed positions, but so that the door is slightly outwardly pivotable about an axis adjacent the upper end thereof for movement of the lower portion of the door outwardly slightly with respect to the wall. The track and latch assembly includes a track which is mounted in fixed relation with respect to the wall adjacent the lower end of the door and a latch assembly which is mounted on the door.

    Abstract: The sliding wall includes a central wall section and two end wall sections, with the sections being co-planar in the closed state and movable, transversely of the car, out of the closing plane and into a shifting plane in which they are displaceable longitudinally of the car past closed wall sections. During shifting, the sliding wall sections are supported by rollers engageable with a rail, provided in an upper longitudinal stringer, and with the outer lateral surface of an outer lower longitudinal supporting beam, the stringer and the supporting beam forming, in cooperation with two corner posts, a side frame of the freight car. The upper rail is a single rectilinear and uninterrupted rail extending substantially the full length of the upper stringer. Each end section has, in the upper portion of its end adjacent the central section, an outwardly opening pocket having a horizontal catch member extending thereacross.
