  • Patent number: 9382752
Abstract: A roll down movable vertical screen, panel or shutter system (such as used for protecting against insects, solar wind, hurricanes, rain or providing for privacy and security having a bottom edge-weight bar and self-adjusting blade that automatically adjusts to variable pitched surfaces to seal the gap resulting from a roll down screen or shutter's bottom horizontal weight bar and a floor surface that is contoured or pitched in a non-horizontal direction running parallel to the direction of the weight bar. The self-adjusting weight bar for variable pitched surfaces generally including: a weight bar body, a self-adjusting blade, customizable attachment point, variable weights, and anti-warping stiffeners. These elements are to be found as the lowest element of a roll down screen or shutter.

  • Patent number: 9121218
Abstract: The present invention is a drip guard for garage doors to catch any falling precipitation from the bottom of the garage door. A garage door drip guard assembly comprises of a trough, mounted on an inner surface of a bottom panel of the garage door. The trough having a length equal to the width of the garage door and a diameter to cover underneath the garage door to prevent any dripping. The trough moves under the door when the door is opened and moves away from beneath the door when the door is closed, thus catching falling debris.

  • Patent number: 6877277
Abstract: For an explosion-proof connection of two electric line ends (25, 26), the contact elements (27, 28) are accommodated in two tubes (1, 2), which can be joined in an explosion-proof manner. Each of the plug-in contact parts is axially secured in its tube by a radial projection (41) in the direction toward the end facing the other tube. At its line end, each of the tubes is closed by an end cap (42), which sealingly surrounds with a narrow outlet (44) the electric lines, including an insulation (43). The tube, in which the plug-in contact part with the contact pins is axially secured, extends beyond the tip of the contact pins, and has there an enlarged diameter, with which it surrounds the other tube (inner tube 1,3) with a narrow cylindrical gap (sealing gap 20).

  • Patent number: 6776423
Abstract: A device for sealing a gap between a door and a floor or between a window and a window frame comprises a deformable sealing element that seals the gap when the door or window is closed, and an L-shaped activation rail attached to the sealing element and having a vertical shank and a horizontal shank. The sealing element is attached at a free end of the horizontal shank. The activation rail engages with a door frame, or window frame. The activation rail is pivoted when the door or window is being closed and causes the sealing element to engage the floor or window frame. There is an attachment rail for affixing the sealing element to a door or window and arranged on a first side wall of the attachment rail. The attachment rail has an L-shaped cross section, and the sealing element is arranged between the activation rail and a second side wall of the attachment rail. The activation rail is joined to an upper end of an upright-standing shank of the attachment rail.

  • Patent number: 6058654
Abstract: A multi-finger door frame seal which results in reduced hinge bind and which creates a predetermined sound upon opening of the door is disclosed. The frame seal is mounted on the stop on the hinge jamb, while on the rabbett on the lock jamb thereby reducing hinge bind during closing of the door. Use of the multi-finger frame seal according to certain embodiments results in a generation of a predetermined sound upon opening of the door. Also disclosed is a security seal system for use adjacent the bottom of the door. The security seal includes a flap which may be either gravity-actuated or spring-actuated. In spring-actuated embodiments, a cam forces the security flap downward into the closed position as the door is closed. While in gravity-actuated embodiments, closing of the door results in gravity causing the security flap to move downward into the closed position where it is maintained while the door is closed.

  • Patent number: 5055335
Abstract: A weather strip for attachment to a jamb for engagement of a flexible portion of the weather strip against a closure member for example a door comprises an attachment portion of rectangular shape for attachment to the jamb and a flexible portion of blade-shape or cylindrical shape for flexible engagement with the door. The attachment portion is formed of an exterior thin wall surrounding a hollow interior with the wall being co-extruded with the flexible portion. The resultant body is thus relatively flimsy and is rendered rigid by the addition of a stiffener element inserted into the hollow interior defined by the walls.

  • Patent number: 4528775
Abstract: A sealing means for a door lacking a threshold comprises a lath of resilient material, which with a substantially plane main portion is attached to the lower edge of door leaf. A head, enlarged with respect to the main portion, is provided with sealing ridges and may be bent in relation to the attachment of the lath, so the ridges will be forced towards the floor. An actuating member, comprising a longitudinally compressible leaf spring, is fitted between the lower edge of the door leaf and the head of the lath, so it extends outside the vertical hinge edge of the door leaf. Just before the door reaches its closed position the leaf spring contacts the door frame, and will then force the portion of the head adjacent to the hinge edge downwards. During the terminal portion of the closing movement the friction between the floor and the downwardly turned portions of the ridges will "roll" the head to full contact with the floor.
