Therefore, the door (10) is reversible without having to be flipped end for end and provides for a reversible door having mortised hardware.

Abstract: A safety-lock mechanism for use with a multi-position window having a stationary window frame, a sash window frame positioned within the stationary window frame and selectively pivotable out of the stationary window frame about a vertical axis and a horizontal axis, and a drive train positioned between the sash window frame and the stationary window frame, the drive train being moveable between at least a first position which enables the sash window frame to be pivoted about the horizontal axis and a second position which enables the sash window frame to be pivoted about the vertical axis. The safety-lock mechanism includes a spring-biased pin provided on the sash window frame. The pin has a proximal end, a distal end, a locked position and an unlocked position, and is normally biased into the locked position. An aperture is provided within the drive train and is configured to receive the proximal end of the pin.

Abstract: It is possible to easily and freely change a hinged side and an opening direction of a door when or after a resident moves into a house. Detachable inner frames having doorstop portions, flat portions, and locking nails are mounted to locking grooves in left and right vertical outer frames through spacers and a door main body is mounted to the heelpost side flat portion through hinges. By dividing a doorframe into vertical outer frames and inner frames, in order to change a hinged side of the door, inner frames are pulled out from the vertical outer frames and inserted into the locking grooves in the vertical outer frames after changing orientation of the inner frames according to the hinged side or exchanging the inner frames for inner frames suitable for the hinged side and the opening direction to thereby easily change the hinged side of the door main body.

  • Patent number: 6209265
Abstract: The present invention relates to a door for a refrigerator appliance having reinforcing corner brackets that structurally complete the corners of the door. The corner brackets are located at the door corners of the vertical and horizontal side walls of the outer door skin. The brackets structurally replace and reinforce the horizontal side wall immediately adjacent the vertical side wall with a thicker, stronger material, such as, metal or steel, so that loading normally transferred to the outer door skin through the horizontal side wall at this corner location is instead transferred directly to the brackets mounted in the door. The horizontal side wall at the corner adjacent the vertical side wall has a cut-out or an open section. The brackets each have an opening positioned at the cut-out section. The opening is adapted to receive a hinge pin or closure cap. The door has an elongate supporting strut in the form of a hollow cylindrical tube engaging the brackets to reinforce the corners.
