Abstract: Composite door systems are provided for use in a protective barrier structure. The composite door systems provide for quick assembly, safety, security, and resistance to physical impacts or threats. The composite door systems may include a shell and a core that can be factory completed or finished on site. The shell may be shipped to the assembly location of the barrier structure, and the core may be formed on site by pouring liquid fill material into a cavity of the shell, which is allowed to cure into a solid fill material. Hardware housings may be operatively coupled to the shell that are made to receive door hardware but resist the liquid full material from filling the hardware housings. The shell, core, and/or hardware housings may provide resistance to damage, such as projectiles to provide enhanced security protection to the occupants or contents of the building structure.

  • Patent number: 8800110
Abstract: A gate-hinge bracket for fastening to a gate post has a J-bolt and a mounting plate. The J-bolt has an elongated threaded shank and a generally perpendicular pintle. The mounting plate has an internally-threaded socket for coupling with the threaded shank portion of the J-bolt. It further has a plurality of fastener openings for fastening it to the gate post by fasteners. Thus, the J-bolt can be twisted relative to the stationary mounting plate until the pintle portion is aligned on a chosen axis. Optionally there is a lock nut on the threaded shank between the pintle and the mounting plate in order to lock the pintle in a fixed position. Optionally the gate post is tree trunk or slice thereof bored with an enlarged clearance bore for the shank of the J-bolt, as well as with pilot holes for fasteners like lag screws.

Abstract: A refrigerated cabinet includes a door assembly for closing a cooling chamber. The door assembly includes a door supported by pivot bearings being configured to pivot about a vertical axis between a closed position and an opened position. Rails arranged substantially parallel to a side wall of the refrigerated cabinet are configured to displaceably support the pivot bearings of the door. The door is displaceable in the rails between a use position in front of the cooling chamber, in which the door is pivotable between the opened position and the closed position, and a parking position next to the cooling chamber, in which the door cannot be pivoted.

Abstract: Double paneled door assembly providing RF shielding and soundproofing through the use of two door panels, i.e., back door panel and front door panel, as well as respective back door frame and front door frame. The door panels and door frames are joined together by door pins and door pin bushing as well as frame pins and frame pin bushings, and the double door panels are mounted on the double frames by heavy duty hinges. The use of two door panels and frame panels with a volume of sealed air or other inert gas between the panels aids the RF shielding and soundproofing properties of the door. The bushings act as damping mechanisms to reduce transmission of vibration from the front side of the door assembly to the back side of the door assembly that will ultimately reduce waves permeating into an enclosed room or area.

Abstract: A door system comprises a door panel, a support member, and a pivoting vertical plate. The door panel comprises a plurality of discrete rigid insulation pieces interposed between flexible layers. An outer skin encompasses the rigid insulation pieces and the flexible layers. The door panel is secured to the support member by the outer skin, such that the outer skin bears the weight of the door panel. The vertical plate is secured to a trailing side of the door panel. The vertical plate includes keepers that selectively engage hooks extending from a casing positioned at a doorway. The rigidity of the door panel depends on the pivotal position of the vertical plate relative to a plane defined by the door panel. The door panel provides sufficient flexibility to withstand impacts from objects and vehicles yet also provides sufficient rigidity to insulate a cold environment from a warm environment.

A hinge means (22) connects the hinge side of the door (12) to the hinge side of the frame (16, 70, 76) through a hinge pivot point (45). The convexly curved surface (14) extends beyond the location of the hinge pivot point (45) towards, and locates within, the cavity (26), so as to allow the door (12) to open without a gap being created between the hinge side of the door and the frame that may cause finger-pinch injury.
