Each latching mechanism includes one latch member for each leaf. The latch member is mounted on a pivot pin for the leaf so that the latch member will turn with the leaf from a normal radial position to a collapsed position. The latch member is retained in its normal position by spring biassed detents which will release when abnormal forces are applied to the associated leaf.

    Abstract: A door system of the swinging type to neutralize air draft effects on the door, which is conceived to allow panic exit and to psychologically induce the user to pivot the latter in a predetermined direction. This door system includes a pair of wings or panels having a releasable magnetic connection allowing normal bodily pivoting of the two wings as a simple swinging door and also allowing, for instance under panic, outward opening of the wing which normally opens inwardly. This door system includes a stopper and a door frame relatively arranged to define an oblique closing position for the door, and also includes a resilient strip of adjustable resilience engaging the stopper to prevent inadvertant opening of the panic wing.

    Abstract: A revolving door and controls therefor are set forth to restrict access into a room to only authorized personnel. The revolving door is disposed in a housing having an entrance and an exit into the room. The revolving door includes a plurality of wings which, in cooperation with the housing, define a plurality of compartments movable in response to rotation of the door to transport a person between the entrance and exit through the housing. Included are means for identifying authorized personnel and driving the door for rotation to transport that authorized person in a selected compartment between the entrance and the exit. Means are included for sensing two or more persons in the selected compartment moving from a starting point between the entrance and the exit, the sensing means reversely rotating the door to return the selected compartment to the starting point.
