Patent number: 12209455Abstract: A reduced, visibility window/door screen includes a particularly formed narrow profile frame and mesh applied to the frame. The frame is formed from a single elongated member that is bent to form four corners and four corresponding sides, with joining of the adjacent first and second ends. A high-strength adhesive bonds the mesh to the frame, which is pinch rolled thereon for exceptional pull-out strength. Another embodiment includes a leaf spring movably secured to the frame, to bias and center the screen within the master frame. Another embodiment further includes a plunger pin slidably disposed in the frame with one end fixedly secured to the leaf spring, and handle movably connected to the other end of the plunger pin. The handle member being movable between first and second positions to respectively actuate the leaf spring between an undeformed condition, and a deformed, flattened condition permitting installation/removal of the screen.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2021Date of Patent: January 28, 2025Assignee: The Ritescreen Company, LLCInventors: Thomas Randall Iles, John C. Patent number: 9140054Abstract: The present invention is directed to an insert holding system, a kit, and a method of installing the same. In several embodiments, the kit and/or system is constructed so that it can be installed in a standard interior door by modifying the existing door. In other embodiments, the insert holding system is installed in a door during the manufacturing of the door. The system and kit can also be configured to be installed in a wall, furniture, or another item or fixture. In several embodiments, the insert is constructed in a modular frame for easy replacement and exchange of the insert, if damaged, or if a different functionality is desired. For example, the insert could include a screen, a window, a mirror, a poster frame, a picture frame, a poster, a chalk board, a dry erase board, a cork board, or any combination thereof.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2014Date of Patent: September 22, 2015Assignee: Oberbroeckling Development CompanyInventor: Philip J. Patent number: 8555562Abstract: A window well cover jack is disclosed. The window well cover jack has three arms: a base arm, a support arm and an actuator handle, all connected to aid in the lifting of a window well cover and to allow egress. In one embodiment, the jack is lockable in a stowed position. It is also possible to add a spring assist to aid in the lifting of a window well cover. Ideally, the window well cover jack is also lockable in a deployed position to aid in holding an ajar window well cover so as to facilitate escape. A simple link, which is easily broken by emergency crews with the proper tools but secure against intruders without said tools, connects the window well cover jack to a window well cover.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2010Date of Patent: October 15, 2013Inventors: Vince S. Publication number: 20130160371Abstract: The invention relates to a door module (1) of the type formed by a single part and from a single injected material, which module comprises a substantially flat supporting face (2) and at least one guide rail (34) of a window regulator system, said rail (34) being intended to guide and maintain a motor vehicle window supporting device (32). The rail (34) forms at least part of one of one of the side end parts (4) of the supporting face (2), said rail (34) extending continuously with the rest of the module (1) and forming a projection (40) in relation to the supporting face (2). The rail (34) extends in at least two planes different from the plane of the supporting face (2).Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2011Publication date: June 27, 2013Applicant: FAURECIA INTERIEUR INDUSTRIEInventor: Sébastien Hayotte

Patent number: 8317253Abstract: A door assembly for a vehicle includes an outer panel configured for defining an exterior surface of the vehicle, and an inner panel matable to the outer panel to define a cavity therebetween. The inner panel includes a lower portion having a first longitudinal axis and a B-pillar assembly extending from the lower portion. The B-pillar assembly includes a casting having an external surface configured for defining the exterior surface of the vehicle, an internal surface spaced apart from the external surface, a length, and a second longitudinal axis. The casting extends from the portion along the second longitudinal axis, and the second longitudinal axis is substantially perpendicular to the first longitudinal axis.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2011Date of Patent: November 27, 2012Assignee: GM Global Technology Operations LLCInventors: Anil K. Patent number: 6874279Abstract: A window lifter includes a rope or a Bowden cable and is used in motor vehicles. The window lifter also includes guide rails that are integrated into the base surface of a carrier plate of a motor vehicle door. The window lifter also includes carriers that can be displaced along the guide rails and receive a window pane as well as reversing devices that are arranged at the ends of the guide rails. The rope engages with the carriers and a drive device and is guided via the reversing devices. The guide rails protrude from the base surface of the carrier plate, have a slot that extends in the longitudinal direction and are covered on the open base side of the carrier plate in a dampproof manner. The carriers can be at least partially situated on the external and internal side of the guide rails and pass through the respective slot to engage with the rails.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2000Date of Patent: April 5, 2005Assignee: Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. Patent number: 6286890Abstract: A sliding door system for a motor vehicle. The vehicle has a body portion defining an aperture. The sliding door system includes a door assembly slidably movable along a path from a fully opened position to a fully closed position. A guide track is coupled to the body portion for guiding the door assembly. A guide assembly is coupled to the door assembly. The guide assembly includes a guide roller disposed in the track for guiding the door between the fully open position and the fully closed position. A track stabilizer is coupled to the guide track for opposing movement of the door assembly relative to the vehicle in a generally cross-car direction when the door assembly is closed.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2000Date of Patent: September 11, 2001Assignee: DaimlerChrysler CorporationInventor: Robert J.
