The protective body also has a depending lip which projects downwardly from the web a distance to overlap at least a part of the trailer floor sill.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2005Date of Patent: March 7, 2006Inventor: John F. Patent number: 6922959Abstract: A vertical and horizontal member are designed to encase a portion of an installed doorframe assembly. In particular, the vertical and horizontal member encase a door stop section of a horizontal and vertical door frame section. Channels defined by the members are wider than the pre-existing door stop sections such that the member may be laterally positioned thereover to eliminate any misalignment between a door and a door frame assembly. Once properly positioned, the members are secured to the doorframe assembly thereby eliminating any misalignment between the door and the door frame assembly.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2003Date of Patent: August 2, 2005Inventor: William Hileman

Patent number: 6829863Abstract: A door jamb protector has a protective sheet and four elongate spring strips that together function to protect the door jamb. The protective sheet includes a top surface and an opposing bottom surface bounded by a first longitudinal edge, a second longitudinal edge, and a pair of opposing lateral edges. The first longitudinal edge is opposite the second longitudinal edge. Each of the four elongate spring strips has a convex surface, a concave surface, a first end, and a second end. Each of the four elongate spring strips has the property of self-coiling when either the first or second end is bent back over the convex surface. Each of the four elongate spring strips is associated with the protective sheet such that the first end is generally adjacent to the first longitudinal edge, the second end is generally adjacent to the second longitudinal edge, and the four elongate spring strips are generally parallel to each other.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2002Date of Patent: December 14, 2004Inventor: Eugene P. Patent number: 6826877Abstract: The invention provides a removable and reusable door frame guard for a door frame comprising a door jamb, door stop and trim molding attached to a plaster wall. The guard comprises an elongated member having a substantially planar web with depending parallel side panels normal to the planar web. One or both of the side panels terminate with two right angled flanges adaptable for a gripping action with the trim molding and plaster wall. For the hinge side, one side panel has a width about equal to the width of the door stop and about terminates at the jamb, and this narrow panel is adaptable to abut the side of the door stop, as well as the jamb along the marginal edge, thereby providing a gripping action at this side of the guard. Thus, when the guard component is installed over the door frame, the elongated member is adaptable to at least partially engage the door jamb and abut the door stop, and at least one side of the guard is adaptable to grip the trim molding.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2000Date of Patent: December 7, 2004Inventor: Jeffrey J. Patent number: 6804914Abstract: A door safety guard utilizes two interconnected elongated members, one positioned on each side of a door and resting along a length of the door surface and the adjacent frame. Elastic bands are used to interconnect the two elongated members. Hinges may be used to secure the elastic bands to the elongated members.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2002Date of Patent: October 19, 2004Inventor: Allan J. Salzman

Patent number: 6748701Abstract: A burglar-proof device designed to be fixed on one surface of a receiving wall located in or proximate to at least part of the periphery of an opening panel such as a door or a shutter, includes an elongated tubular element (7, 25) having a support wall (8) urged to be supported on the receiving surface (5), at least a fixing member (12, 12a) passing through a passage provided in the support wall (8) of the elongated element and which is fixed on the opening panel (2), at least an elastic return member (15) arranged in the elongated element, and at least a movement sensor mounted in the elongated element and co-operating with the receiving wall, so that, when the elongated element is stressed to counter the elastic member and moves away from the receiving wall, the movement sensor is capable of delivering an electric signal.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2002Date of Patent: June 15, 2004Assignee: AtralInventors: Michel Gelin, Christian Badel, Jean-Luc Buiret, Jean-Claude Dromard

Patent number: 6691466Abstract: A reinforcement assembly for reinforcing a door and door jamb in the vicinity of a door lock aperture in a door frame comprising a wedge shaped rigid plate attached to an inner surface of the door jamb so that the plate is concealed from view. The plate has at least one aperture for receiving the latch and at least one flute along the face of the width of the plate allowing epoxy to be placed between the plate and the door jamb. A U shaped member fit within the free end of a door so that the member is substantially flush with the surface of the free end of the door and concealed from view from the front and the back face of the door. The U shaped member has at least one aperture to allow the latch to pass through the member.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2001Date of Patent: February 17, 2004Inventor: Hollice C. Childress
