Abstract: The present lift lock is employed on a gate that is swingable and liftable on a first axis. In a first position the lift lock is on the first axis and in a blocking position that prevents the gate from being lifted relative to a barrier having the gate. The lift lock is slideable away from the first position on the axis to a second position away from the axis where the lift lock is in an unblocking position, thereby permitting the gate to be lifted on the axis. The lift lock snaps into and out of the second position.

Abstract: A gate apparatus having an automatically returning gate, an upper latch operated by an upper button, and a lower latch operated by an upper finger handle. Each of the latches must be opened to open the gate. The gate returns without the aid of a spring to a position close to the closed position or to the closed position by the structure of a pivot or hinge connection between the gate and the frame of the gate. Gate tubes are rectangular in section for their entire length. Wood panels are included in the gate and excluded from other portions of the gate apparatus to make the gate stand out to the user seeking to open the gate.

Abstract: A device for securing sliding windows and doors includes a telescoping bar and a plate. An end of the bar and the plate together form a connector pair that couples the bar end to the plate in one of a separable orientation and an inseparable orientation according to a relative angle between the bar end and the plate. The connector pair allows the bar to be separated from the plate in the separable orientation when the relative angle is a first angle, and the connector pair prevents the bar end being separated from the plate in the inseparable orientation when the relative angle is a second angle. A lock in the locked position physically prevents the relative angle between the bar end and the plate being changed from the second angle to the first angle. A T-bar or side-wing may prevent unlocking when the window or door is open.

Abstract: A removable obturation device is provided for transversely obstructing a passage delimited by a cylindrical side wall wherein it includes: a) a support and blocking element having a central block supporting a plurality of arms disposed perpendicularly in a radial position with respect to the longitudinal axis of the block and of the side wall, each arm having an extensible rod including a pad intended to be blocked against one the side wall, and b) at least one complementary obturation element extending in a radial transverse plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, at least partly in or opposite the space between the arms so as to prevent an individual from falling through the passage. The obstruction element is preferably removably fastened to the support and blocking element.

Abstract: The present oblique slide latch apparatus includes a housing, lever, and latch. A straight channel is positioned obliquely on the latch and is oblique relative to an axis along which the latch slides. The lever includes first and second pegs that capture inner and outer portions of a latch head to minimize wobble of the latch. The latch head is positioned within opposite sides of the lever.

Abstract: A two part pressurized hand wheel for letting the user know when a gated pressurized barrier has been set up properly. One part of the hand wheel, when turned, begins to cover up a red portion of the second part. When the red portion is completely covered up, such is the signal to the user that the latch of the gated pressurized barrier is properly aligned with the latch receiver of the gated pressurized barrier.

In the engaging position, the engaging means extend beyond the wall port cover to engage a top surface of the wall or ceiling drywall panel to support and retain the wall port cover within the vent opening. In the releasing position, the engaging means are retracted within the wall port cover to disengage from the top surface of the wall or ceiling drywall panel to allow the wall port cover to be removed from the vent openings.

Abstract: A safety gate has a doorframe, a fence door and a repositioning unit. The doorframe has a base frame, a first side frame, and a second side frame. The repositioning unit is mounted on a bottom of the fence door and has a repositioning recess. The repositioning recess selectively engages a top of the base frame and has two opposite guiding surfaces. When the fence door is open at an angle under 5 degrees relative to the doorframe, one of the guiding surfaces abuts a side of the top of the base frame. Because the guiding surface is curved and inclined relative to the fence door and because a distance between the guiding surfaces is decreased gradually, the guiding surface gradually rotates the fence door to close. As a result, the repositioning unit can close the fence door that is open slightly at a small angle.

Abstract: A half-sized adventure door suitable for entry ways to rooms occupied by children is described. The half-door provides a substitute to the costly modification of existing doors in childcare centers and pre-schools while being in compliance with laws and regulations. The half-door decreases costs and risk of damage to existing structure as compared to other ways of implementing a half-door, and doing so while nurturing the imagination of children with a theme. The half-door is constructed to be attached to any standard interior house doorjamb using self-adhesive tape such that no tools are required and damage to existing structure can be mitigated. When the half-door is opened, lights will flash and music will sound. The music and light colors can be coordinated to match the various themes available.

A threaded piece upon being turned brings pressure to bear upon an end of the tube such that the partitions can be incrementally expanded apart and thereby pressurized between two locations within the home so as to block off one portion of the home. The threaded piece is slideable along the elongate member.

Abstract: A security grille and frame construction provides a frame which can be connected to a building around a window. The frame preferably provides a front overhang assisting in defining a channel into which the grille is directed at a first side, such as the top. The grille has a second side opposite the first side when installed which has a security fastener with a shaft which can be cut by emergency personnel in the event of an emergency so the grille can be removed from the frame. A reflective exterior surface such as on a spacer may assist in locating the shaft. An adjustable leg may assist in holding the grille during cutting to prevent binding of the cutting tool.

Abstract: A baby gate assembly which opens automatically only when detecting a designated person, by IR detection, RFID tagging or voice recognition. One or more IR detectors are mounted on a telescopic mast, enabling designation by height selection and the sensed signal compared with a datum or another IR facing in an opposite direct to provide signal operating reversible stepping motor to unlatch the gate. The control circuitry maintains the gate unlatched for sufficient time for the designated person to push open and walk through the gate in a hands free operation. A pedal release mechanism is also enabling unlatching during a power cut. The automatic and pedal unlatching mechanisms are linked for lost motion permitting independent operation.

When the safety gate is not in use, the stretcher assembly is released to loosen the safety gate from the walls and the stretcher assembly can be moved to elsewhere. Barrier means are mountable on the frame means via hinge means and the barrier means are movable relative to the frame means between a closed position, wherein the opening is closed, to an open position, wherein the opening is open. An automatic closure mechanism is provided for moving the barrier means from the open position to the closed position without user intervention.
