    Abstract: A window safety guard is used for preventing an intrusive person or object from entering a home through a window when it is left open by the owner. It is also easily removable during emergency situations as it has a simple locking mechanism and may be removed as a single unit. The assembly has a series of vertical bars with tapered ends that are inserted into corresponding holes in a windowsill and in a bottom frame edge of a raised lower window. Support bars are coupled to the vertical bars to add strength and to help block the window opening. The window safety guard assembly also has a locking mechanism wherein a small rod is inserted in a corresponding hole in a side edge of an upper window frame. The small rod, when inserted, is also abutting the top frame edge of the raised lower window to prevent the lower window from being raised and the window safety guard from being removed.

The second end of the door second portion pivots to a first position overlying the receptacle in response to movement of the access door first portion towards its closed position, and pivots to a second position at which the receptacle is exposed and accessible through the cover plate in response to movement of the access door first portion towards its open position. Pivot features are formed on the cover plate and/or the access door for imparting rotational forces on the door second portion as the door first portion is slid between its open and closed positions.

    Abstract: A security closure device to protect a building opening and a closure member. The device includes a main security panel and a narrower secondary security panel that are hingedly mounted to each other. The side of the main security panel opposite to the smaller security panel is hingedly mounted to a security casing assembly inside the building defining the protected opening. A user can readily unlock the narrower panel from the casing assembly from inside the building without requiring a key or combination. From the outside, a key or combination is required. To open the inwardly swinging security closure, a user opens the closure member a sufficient distance determined by the width of the secondary panel to unlock it. The angular travel of the secondary panel with respect to the main security panel is limited by a stopper assembly.

Thus, the mesh can always be cut so that the outermost vertical bar is located in the recess (10). As the vertical bar (5) can be positioned at an arbitrary depth in the recess (10) there are no specific requirements for exact tolerances when mounting the security grating (1) around a window (2).

    Abstract: An adjustable and pivotable window guard to be placed above a window inside a structure. The window guard provides an attractive appearance and excellent security. Hinge plates that have upwardly directed hinge tubes located thereon are secured on the inside wall proximal a window. A first window guard bracket having cooperating hinge bores is then placed on the hinge tubes so that it can pivot freely. The rectangular main central window guard is then placed over protruding members on the first window guard bracket and a second window guard bracket, also with similar protruding members, is inserted into the main central window guard on the opposite side from the first window guard bracket. Thus, all three of these elements are slidable horizontally in relationship to one another, which allows the user to adapt the device to variously sized windows.
