However, other problems such as inefficiency of the fluid (gas-liquid) suction action and lack of mechanical strength of the roll axis remains.

Abstract: A spiral wrapping for an ironer roller for a chest ironer. Chest ironers have at least one rotatably drivable ironer roller, the lower half of which is surrounded by a stationary ironer bed. The ironer roller is surrounded by an outer spiral wrapping which comes into contact with the item of laundry to be treated. The spiral wrapping is provided with an outer layer produced from a coarse woven fabric which has a higher coefficient of friction. The coefficient of friction of the coarse woven fabric does not alter as the age of the spiral wrapping increases. This means that even in the case of older spiral wrappings, there is sufficient frictional engagement between the spiral wrapping, namely the outer layer, and the item of laundry to be smoothed out.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing paint roller covers is disclosed in which the paint roller covers are manufactured from a seamless, tubular fabric sleeve having a backing made at least in part from a material having a lower melting point than material used for the pile of the seamless, tubular fabric sleeve. The seamless, tubular fabric sleeve is placed onto a cylindrical member, and heat is applied to cause the material having the lower melting point in the backing be activated to cause the backing of the seamless, tubular fabric sleeve to remain in a cylindrical configuration. The activated tubular knitted pile fabric may be finished into paint roller covers by combing and shearing the pile fabric to a desired length, beveling the edges of the paint roller covers, and vacuuming stray fibers from the paint roller covers.

Abstract: An aluminum sleeve for magnetic development rollers includes an aluminum sleeve and a shaft fixed at the ends of the aluminum sleeve for engaging with a gear, wherein an etching absorption layer is arranged on the surface of the aluminum sleeve, and a nickel plating protect layer is arranged onto the etching absorption layer. A manufacture method thereof involves forming an etching absorption layer on the surface of the aluminum sleeve via a chemical texture etching process, then forming a nickel plating protect layer onto the etching absorption layer via a nickel chemical plating process. The etching absorption layer has fine and uniform particles, and the nickel protect layer prevents the etching absorption layer from being oxidized and improves the wear resistance of the aluminum sleeve.

Abstract: A contact seal to prevent contamination from fouling a conveyor idler roll, the roll generally comprising a rotatable cylinder, at least one internal bearing assembly, and a fixed axle. A disc of thermoplastic polymer or similarly resilient material is adhesively attached preferentially to an outboard end cap of the idler roll to seal out contamination. A circular aperture through the disc allows the attached seal to rotate about the idler axle. At least one ring of felt or other porous material is adhesively attached to the disc circumferentially to the aperture to filter out contamination when the ring is in frictional contact with the roll end cap. The seal is preferentially divided along the longitudinal axis of the disc to form two interlocking semicircular half-pieces that are snapped together circumferentially about the idler axle so that no disassembly or modification of the idler is required to adhesively attach the seal.
