Abstract: Folding blade (1) that is particularly applicable to devices for the closure of flexible tubular packaging, taking the form of a flat plate, provided on one of its lateral edges with a tab (5) in the form of a hook that is adapted to hold the packaging, of the type that is disposed opposite and perpendicular to a lateral portion of the packaging and attached to an axis of rotation (3) that transmits thereto a reciprocating rotational movement around the axis. This folding blade (1) comprises a main body (2) that can be attached to the axis of rotation; an end portion (4) provided with a tab (5) that is joined by articulation to the main body by its free end opposite the axis of rotation (3); and an elastic means (6) that exerts a permanent pulling force on said end portion, thus maintaining it in the initial position, folded over the main body of the blade.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the continuous manufacture of envels, bags, shipping pouches, or the like, of web type material, especially paper or the like, with or without side folds, including lateral gumming or central gumming and with a respective folded and glued bed bottom, whereby the web type material is first precreased, cut, provided with adhesive or gummed, folded, severed, prefabricated into a tubular blank, and finally closed at its bottom.

Abstract: A folding machine which takes a prescored blank of paper, folds side flaps up, and glue tabs down, applies a glue line to the tabs, and folds end flaps of the blank about score lines onto the glue tabs to form boxed pockets and then delivers the finished folder for use.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing folding paper sacks, especially gusseted sacks, wherein each sack is shaped out of a tubular section separated from a single- or multiple-layer tubular web and closed at both ends with folded bottoms is characterized in that each tubular section continues to be conveyed uninterruptedly parallel to the direction of travel of the tubular web once it has been separated from the tubular web and the forward and/or rear ends of the tubular sections are shaped during the continuous pass by prefolding and crimping over and by the application of adhesive to the folded bottom, transversely to the direction C of travel, and accordingly sealed.
Abstract: Envelope blanks are scored and folded by pressing the flat blanks through a series of scoring and folding rolls. The rolls include vacuum rolls which invert the envelope blanks during the scoring operation. The blanks are scored laterally and as they pass over the outer surface of one of the vacuum rolls they are scored longitudinally. During the longitudinal scoring operation, the envelopes are curvilinear due to their being drawn down onto one of the vacuum rolls. After the longitudinal scoring operation, the blanks are inverted by being folded along the transverse score. The inverted, folded blanks are then moved along by a pair of cooperating vacuum rolls to a gumming station. After being gummed, the blanks are folded along their longitudinal scores with the folded flaps being secured in place by the gum.
Abstract: A double envelope construction comprised of one envelope inside another envelope is formed in one pass on an envelope folding machine by providing a pre-cut envelope blank and a paper blank of smaller size than the envelope blank, adhering the paper blank to the envelope blank by means of fugitive adhesive, applying remoistenable seal gum to the flap portion of the envelope blank, drying the seal gum, and scoring the adhered together envelope and paper blanks at predetermined locations and folding the scored blanks while applying adhesive to predetermined areas thereof to form an outer envelope from the envelope blank and an inner envelope inside the outer envelope from the paper blank. The envelope blank or the paper blank, or both, may be preprinted prior to being fed to the envelope folding machine or may be printed by a printer in-line with the envelope folding machine.
