Rocker Base Patents (Class 5/105)
  • Patent number: 5230523
Abstract: A multi-functional child carrier device including a base having a detachable seat, the backrest portion detachably connectable to the base and slots formed within both the back-rest and the base to allow the unit to serve as a child safety seat or as an infant carrier seat utilizing only the backrest. The device includes elevation supports secured and retractable within the base for supporting the base in an elevated position so that the device may function as a child's chair. Wheels are attachable to the elevation supports so that the device may function as a stroller. Extension members may be attached to the retractable legs for further elevation of the device, thereby allowing the device to function as a high chair. Upon removing the backrest portion, and inserting the appropriate seats on the base, the device may function as either a potty-chair or a walker. In addition, the base is configured in such a manner that if inverted, the unit may function as a rocking chair for a small child.

  • Patent number: 5016301
Abstract: An infant rocker/cradle is disclosed. The rocker/cradle includes a generally rectangular frame having two generally parallel, opposing and spaced sides which are joined to each other by two generally parallel, opposing and spaced ends which join the sides at generally right angles. Each side defines a first arcuate rocking edge which is parallel to that of the other side. In addition, each end defines a second arcuate rocking edge which is parallel to that of the other end. The first and second arcuate rocking edges are oriented with respect to each other so that they generally face opposite directions and are disposed at right angles with respect to each other. In addition, the rocker/cradle includes a firm but resilient hammock which is attached to the inner facing surfaces of the frames' ends and sides and which firmly supports an infant lying thereon.

  • Patent number: 4970740
Abstract: A bi-motional cradle has a base with rollers affixed along each of two sides. A motor mounted on the base drives a crank arm which imparts to and fro translational motion to a cradle frame which rests upon the rollers of the base. A mediate frame member which lies within the cradle frame supports a second motor. The second motor has a crank arm rotably attached thereto. A cradle is suspended from the cradle frame by means which allow the cradle to hang freely and oscillate. The second motor's crank arm engages the cradle during a part of that crank arm's rotational motion. As the second motor's crank arm engages the cradle, it imparts a motion to the cradle that causes the cradle to swing, or oscillate. A baby lying in the cradle is soothed by a gentle, steady, two-directional motion.

  • Patent number: 4891852
Abstract: A structure which can be removably placed under the bed portion of a conventional bassinet and between its four legs such that the legs are lifted up off the gound by a sufficient distance to enable the bassinet to be rocked in either the head to toe rocking mode or cradle rocked, depending upon the orientation of the bassinet relative to the rocker sections of the present invention. A structure having at least one pair of parallel and separated rockers adjacent its lowermost portion is sized to fit beneath the bed and spaced to fit between the four legs of a conventional bassinet and oriented such that the pair of parallel and separated rockers are aligned in the same direction as the head and foot of the bassinet carriage, and the height of the structure is sized to cause the four legs of the bassinet to be lifted off the ground by a sufficient amount to permit the rockers to freely rock back and forth.

  • Patent number: 4258446
Abstract: A motorized infant rocking device is disclosed which will rock an infant resting in an infant seat or crib in a soothing manner for a predetermined period of time. In a first embodiment, the apparatus includes a track mounted to a stationary base and a glide mechanism mounted to a support beam which slidably engages the track. A rotary motor is mounted to the support beam and includes an eccentric which operatively engages a drive surface mounted to the stationary base, to impart oscillating linear motion to the support beam. An infant holding device such as an infant seat or crib is mounted to the support beam and undergoes linear oscillatory motion with respect to the base in response to the operation of the motor. In a second embodiment, rollers are mounted to a stationary base and glide rails rollably engage the rollers. A rotary motor is mounted to the base and has an eccentric which is operatively connected to the glide rails, to impart oscillating linear motion to the glide rails along the rollers.

  • Patent number: 4084273
Abstract: A revolvable playpen including a hollow body having an open upper end and a bottom. The bottom of the body has an annular extension substantially normal to the wall of the hollow body and secured to the lower under surface of the bottom is a semi-spherical member. The annular extension limits the degree of tilt of the playpen so that an infant within the playpen can safely revolve the pen about the annular extension and rock upon the semi-spherical member without tipping over.
