Abstract: A folding bed chest system includes a cabinet having a front panel assembly movable from a closed position to an opened position, wherein when in the open position the front panel assembly is supportive of a mattress located thereon. A drawer assembly is freely movable into and out of a drawer opening located below the front panel assembly. The drawer assembly is configured such that the front panel assembly is movable from the closed position to the opened position when the drawer assembly is located fully in the drawer opening.

Abstract: An assemblable mattress support can be shipped with all of its components compactly packed into the headboard. The mattress support includes a foldable longitudinal bar, a lateral bar, side panels, wooden slats, block legs and a footboard, all of which fit inside a compartment in the headboard. In an assembled state of the mattress support, a first connector at one end of the longitudinal bar attaches to a third connector on the outside of the headboard. A second connector at the other end of the longitudinal bar attaches to a fourth connector on the footboard. The middle of the lateral bar connects to the middle of the longitudinal bar. The block legs are attached to the bottom sides of the headboard and footboard. The slats are attached to one another by fabric ribbons and are placed in parallel over the longitudinal bar and support ledges on the side panels.

The mattress frame is hinged to the piece of furniture at one end and has its feet at the other end. The pull down bed includes a device for locking said mattress frame in the closed or horizontal position, which is actuated by an actuation device, which includes the feet.

Abstract: A rolling foldout cabinet bed has two faces that fold out from a vertical to a horizontal position, thereby creating a surface that can be used for sleeping. When the cabinet is closed, a space within the cabinet stores a foldable innerspring, or other mattress. The two faces can be locked together in the folded position. During deployment, an elastic belt or other retainer and hold the folded mattress to one of the faces, and can also pull the mattress out of the interior space within the bottom of the cabinet. The cabinet also has legs for supporting the faces above the ground when in the opened configuration, and can include wheels that facilitate moving the cabinet quickly and easily moved.

Abstract: Provided is a folding bed including a cabinet unit and a head part pivotable in relation to the cabinet unit, wherein the head part, in an unused position, is positioned in an approximately vertical orientation in the cabinet unit and in a usage position in an approximately horizontal orientation at least in sections in front of the cabinet unit. The head part can be pivoted from the unused position into the usage position and back. In order to further reduce the space required for the folding bed, the cabinet unit and head part are connected together via a control lever that is held pivotable about a pivot axis on the cabinet unit and a pivot axis on the head part. The control lever is designed such that on movement of the head part from the unused position into the usage position and back, it is pivoted against the cabinet unit.

Abstract: “The Fold Up Dormitory” is intended for use in situations where living and working quarters for a small or large number of people are required on short notice or irregular intervals. The apparatus is made of wood, steel and premanufactured hardware, and comprises components for sleeping, working and storage of small items. It is mobile, simple to operate and offers many options to those who use it. The apparatus comprises: a central core; a pair of folding frames, each pivotally connected to the central core on opposite sides thereof, for rotation about vertical frame-to-core axes of connection; a bed platform pivotally connected to a first side of the central core, for rotation about a horizontal bed-to-core axis of connection; a desk surface pivotally connected to a second side of the central core, for rotation about a horizontal desk-to-core axis of connection; and storage shelving within the central core.

Abstract: A wall bed assembly including a wall cabinet and a bed frame. The bed frame is pivoted from a vertical, stored position within the wall cabinet to a horizontal position for use as a bed. The bed frame is connected to the wall cabinet with a pivot bracket secured to the bed frame which pivotally attaches to the lower end of a counterbalancing piston. The upper end of the counterbalancing piston is pivotally secured to a plate that attaches to the wall cabinet side panel. Additionally, the bed frame includes a pair of non-linear legs pivotally attached for supporting the frame in the horizontal position. The wall bed assembly also includes retractable magnets for securing the bed frame in the vertical position. A safety release position is also provided. A bed frame assembly for a customizable wall cabinet is also provided.

Abstract: A tension mechanism for use with existing conventional bed platforms in the well known Murphy bed system in which the bed platform may be connected to the tension mechanism when the tension is at a low level by only a single installer, and the tension thereafter increased in infinite increments to any desired level by a remotely operated tool.

Abstract: A combined wall treatment and bed, that is, a unit which resembles a decorative wall treatment, such as a painting, when in the upright and stowed position, but which can be lowered to provide a comfortable bed. When the unit is in the upright and stowed position its appearance is that of a thin (4½?) wall treatment, the thickness of a large painting, and thus consumes practically no living space. A fixed component can be attached to any standard wall construction without modification; it supports the lower edge of a movable portion and defines an axis about which the movable portion pivots to provide a functional and comfortable bed.

The headwall comprises patient care equipment and a post-delivery bed disposed in the headwall to have an upwardly extending storage position and an outwardly extending use position. The headwall may provide a docking station for a birthing bed on which the delivering mother will be positioned during delivery.

Abstract: A folding cabinet bed includes a cabinet of sufficient size to enclose a standard size folded futon mattress, and allows the mattress to be deployed as a bed. Hinges on the front wall of the cabinet enable the front wall to fold down vertically. An extension panel attached to the front wall helps to create a sleeping platform that accommodates the mattress. A drawer with a plurality of nesting telescoping rails between the sidewalls of the cabinet and the sidewalls of the drawer is provided at the bottom of the cabinet. The telescoping rails enable the drawer to be extended away from the cabinet and support the front wall and extension panel to create a level sleeping surface. The drawer may include storage space for pillows and bedding. Latching means holds the cabinet closed to withstand outward pressure of the folded mattress. A safety chain or strap may be provided.

One of the beds is fixed in translation, while the other one is mobile in translation. The assembly comprises a carriage on which one of the beds is rotatably mounted, and mobile in translation on at least one rail. The carriage moves on two parallel rails, i.e. a rear rail and a front rail, by means of a slide (for each rail) that is integral with the carriage.

Abstract: A convertible furniture assembly having a bed frame pivotally coupled to a frame assembly. The bed frame is pivotally moveable between an upright position and a lowered position. A counterbalance member is coupled to the bed frame and adapted for counterbalancing the bed frame during movement, thereby minimizing the size of a corresponding torsion system. The present invention further includes a hinge assembly capable of providing a spacing distance between the bed frame and a lower platform.

Hinges on the bottom of the front and back walls of the cabinet enable the cabinet to be opened vertically so that the front and back walls fold down to a sleeping position, without mechanical devices to assist in deploying the bed. The top of the cabinet can become a headboard for the bed in the open configuration. Decorative handles or other protrusions on the front and back walls of the cabinet are sized to extend outward from the cabinet the same distance as the feet/supports of the cabinet to create a level sleeping surface when unfolded.

The user pulls the bed assembly partially out of the furniture housing allowing the bed frame assembly to lock in place, to allow the user to safely and comfortably lay down and rest on the bed.
