Abstract: A backrest pivoting system can have a backrest and an actuator for pivoting the backrest. The actuator is pivotably connected to the backrest by a pivot defining a first pivot axis. The backrest can pivot about a guide member which defines a second pivot axis coaxial with the first pivot axis. A backrest pivoting system can include an actuator and a resilient member mounted in series with the actuator. There is also provided an extendable user support assembly comprising a lower body support panel and a core support panel supported by a frame, the lower body support panel being translatable relative to the frame such that an opening is created between the lower body support panel and the core support panel when the lower body support panel is translated away from the core support panel. There is also provided a method for placing a bed in a vascular position.

Abstract: A moving bed has a fixed bed part as a resting area for the head and upper body of a person, and a longitudinally moving bed part as a resting area for the buttocks and legs of a person. The bed has a first bed frame in the form of a stationary fixed frame that extends as a stationary longitudinal frame over the entire length of the bed and on which the upper, fixed bed part is formed. The bed has a second bed frame as a moving frame, which forms the lower longitudinally moving bed part; the moving frame is held to the fixed frame so that it can move longitudinally. A motor drive is mounted between the fixed frame and the moving frame, and by this motor drive, the moving frame may be moved alternatingly back and forth relative to the fixed frame in a predetermined longitudinal section.

Abstract: A headboard provided by embodiments of the present disclosure is formed by detachably combining a first headboard, a second headboard, a third headboard, and a fourth headboard, and backs of the first headboard, the second headboard, the third headboard, and the fourth headboard are respectively provided with accommodating grooves. When the bed needs to be packaged and shipped, the headboard can be disassembled into the first headboard, the second headboard, the third headboard, and the fourth headboard, and other parts of the bed, including the left headboard and the right headboard, are placed into a space enclosed by the accommodating grooves of the lower headboard and the upper headboard.

Abstract: A collapsible headboard includes a left headboard, a right headboard, and a middle filling part between the left and right headboards. Respective fronts of the left and right headboards and the middle filling part are provided with cushions. A front of the collapsible headboard is connected with a headboard covering located on outer sides of the cushions. Backs of the left and right headboards are provided with at least one transverse connecting rod. The transverse connecting rod is connected to the backs of the left and right headboards and the middle filling part. The collapsible headboard can be assembled and disassembled easily.

Abstract: An actuation assembly includes a torque input element, a torque output element, and a transfer linkage assembly comprising a connector assembly which connects the input element to the output element. The connector assembly includes a first connector having a proximate end and a connector portion. The proximate end of the first connector is the end closer to either the input element or the output element, and the connector portion is further from that same element. The connector assembly also includes a second connector having a proximate end closer to the other of the input element and the output element. The connector portion is further from that same element. The connector portions are selectively joinable to either permit or resist relative longitudinal translation of the first and second connectors. One example application for the actuation assembly is as an actuation assembly for a braking system on a hospital bed.

Abstract: A patient transport apparatus comprises support structure. The support structure comprises a base, a support frame, and a patient support deck. A headboard and a footboard are coupled to the support structure. The support frame comprises a head section and a body section, the body section coupled to the patient support deck. The patient support deck comprises a patient support surface capable of articulating relative to the support frame. The head section is movable relative to the body section to define first and second configurations of the support frame, the support frame having a first footprint in the first configuration and a second footprint, smaller than the first footprint, in the second configuration.

Abstract: There is provided a patient support that may be adjustable in height, width, length or a combination thereof. The patient support may be useable with normal sized patients or with bariatric patients. The patient support has a variety of features to enhance operability and/or functionality, including a width adjustable caster frame, width adjustable deck portions, a width adjustable headboard and an extendible foot board to provide extra length. An enhanced lift mechanism can accommodate bariatric patients and alternative functionality in achieving deck positions improves patient comfort. Various parts of the patient support including deck panels and the footboard may be removed and replaced with ease without complicated connectors.

Abstract: A table for a vertical partition includes a cutout defining a table board that has at least a table bottom edge and two opposing cutout side edges. The table board is pivotally attached at the table bottom edge with at least one bi-directional hinge to the cutout bottom edge. The table board has an elongated slotted bracket pivotally fixed with a pivot bracket to one of the two opposing table side edges. Each slotted bracket is slidably constrained by a retention pin fixed with one of the two opposing cutout side edges. With the table board fixed within the cutout in a raised position, the table board may be pushed to one side of the vertical partition or the other, the bi-directional hinges pivoting the table board down until the retention pin reaches an end of the slotted bracket to maintain the table board in a substantially horizontal position.

Abstract: An adjustable bed frame structure includes a bed frame and bed legs. The bed frame includes a left side rod and a right side rod. A head support rod, a middle support rod and a tail support rod are connected between the left side rod and the right side rod. The head support rod, the middle support rod and the tail support rod each include a left support rod and a right support rod. The left support rod and the right support rod each have a plurality of adjustment holes. The bed legs include side legs and middle legs. Each of the middle legs has a locking portion at a top thereof to mate with the adjustment holes of the left support rod and the right support rod. The width of the bed frame can be adjusted as desired.

Abstract: A frame system that is adjustable in size and shape is provided with components that move in relation to each other. The frame system uses support rails, side rails, and a center rail to configure the different components to a desired shape and size. Each support rail includes a middle support piece and a pair of adjustable support pieces that move within the middle support piece. Each side rail includes a middle side piece and a pair of adjustable side pieces that move within the middle side piece. The center rail includes a middle center piece and connecting pieces that connect to a slot within each middle support piece. Legs mount the support rails and side rails while the center rail uses a leg piece.

Abstract: A system for changing the width of a person support apparatus includes a bed controller for receiving a command signal indicating a command for width alteration, a first motor controlled by the bed controller for driving an extension of a first deck section of the support apparatus thereby altering the width of the first deck section, and a second motor controlled by the bed controller for driving an extension of a second deck section of the support apparatus thereby altering the width of the second deck section. The bed controller controls the first motor and the second motor in a manner that causes the first deck section to reach a first deck section width alteration limit at a first time and the second deck section to reach a second deck section width alteration limit at a second time, wherein the first time and the second time are not equal.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a sliding-type apparatus for thermo-therapeutic treatment comprising: a body (1100) on which a thermo-therapeutic treatment device (1010) is arranged; a cover (1250) which is slid, and covers said thermo-therapeutic treatment device (1010); and guide grooves which are formed to slide on said body (1100). According to the present invention, if the apparatus for thermo-therapeutic treatment is not used, a lower bed member is slid such that the lower bed member can be overlapped with the body whereby a space can be easily utilized, and if the apparatus for thermo-therapeutic treatment is used, the lower bed member is easily unfolded in a sliding manner.

Each scissor assembly includes a first frame member pivotally coupled to a second frame member at a pivot point. Frame members of adjacent scissor assemblies are coupled to one of a first connector assembly and a second connector assembly. At least two backrest support members are coupled to the frame. Each backrest support member is slidably coupled to a corresponding first frame member and has a lower end that is pivotally coupled to a corresponding second frame member. Each backrest support member is pivotally movable with respect to the corresponding second frame member.

Abstract: A wall-mounted slipcover headboard for a bed combines comfort of an upholstered headboard with the ease of removable covers while it solves the problem of hanging art above the bed by incorporating art into the bed. The headboard has a modular, frame, a cushioning pad and a removable slipcover. For example, the removable slipcover features printed art. The headboard's back side has horizontal dowels that slide on to a hanging medium, allowing for flexibility in mounting the hanging medium in the strongest place on a wall with the least amount of damage to the wall, while allowing the headboard to slide horizontally to be centered above a bed.

Abstract: An adjustable bed frame that includes a headboard, a footboard, a quartet of support posts associated with the headboard and footboard, and support frames that connect the headboard posts to the footboard posts. Both the headboard and footboard are fabricated from two equal halves that can be separated, exposing an internal leaf. Both the headboard and footboard, in conjunction with their internal leaves, can be adjusted to a variety of lengths to accommodate various-sized box springs and mattresses as needed.

Abstract: A surgical stretcher includes a patient-support deck having a substantially planar back section coupled to a frame for pivoting movement about a transverse pivot axis. The back section includes a frame member having first and second corner portions. The first corner portion is transversely spaced apart from the second corner portion, and the first and second corner portions are longitudinally spaced apart from the transverse pivot axis. An actuator couples the back section to the frame. The actuator is lockable to prevent pivoting movement of the back section relative to the frame, and is releasable to allow pivoting movement of the back section relative to the frame. A release rod is coupled to the back section and movable to release the actuator.

Abstract: A modular expandable bedframe accessory system is provided. The system includes a plurality of panel members having different predetermined widths. A plurality of support columns are interchangeably coupleable to sides of the panels to form different panel assemblies having different predetermined configurations. The system preferably includes a back panel and a plurality of side panels so that panel assembly is expandable from a crib configuration, to a day bed configuration, and to a king size headboard configuration. The different bedframe accessory systems configured with the invented modular system can be constructed and dismantled without the use of tools.

Abstract: An expandable bedstead comprises a horizontal base frame having a vertical headboard frame fixedly connected to a first side thereof, a pair of leg supports fixedly connected to the corner portions of an opposing second side of the base frame, a vertical footboard frame pivotably connected to the leg supports, a vertical left side frame having an upper and lower subframes releasably connected to the left side of the base frame, and a vertical right side frame releasably connected to the right side of the base frame and to the headboard and footboard frame.

Abstract: A convertible bed assembly for providing a crib, toddler bed, or twin bed arrangement and alternatively a pair of twin or bunk beds. A pair of headboard and footboard assemblies each have separable upper and lower sections mounted together through coupling hardware to provide a crib assembly having one stationary crib side rail and one drop side rail. Motifs are releasably coupled to the top of the headboard and footboard assemblies through hardware. Any one of a variety of different motifs may be mounted upon the headboard and footboard assemblies. The crib is converted into a toddler bed by removing the lower sections of the headboard and footboard assemblies and replacing the fixed and drop sides of the crib with toddler safety rails joined to the upper sections and which are preferably stored beneath the crib posture board to provide convenient access at the time of conversion. The drop side and fixed side hardware is utilized in a unique fashion to mount each of the toddler safety rails.

Abstract: A headboard frame includes a pair of opposed side members temporarily held together by separable center sections. The center sections are of varying length determined by whether the headboard is for twin, queen, or king size beds. A two-ply fabric cover is formed from front and rear panels slightly greater in length than the corresponding length of the headboard frame. The cover is seamed around the side and top edges. The bottom edges of the panels are initially separated to allow the cover to slide over the frame, but are then secured by hook and loop fastening strips. The cover is of such a size and so dimensioned that, when in place, the cover firmly holds the frame members together. The cover may be provided with a cushion and/or tufted front surface.

Abstract: A hospital bed footboard is provided which can be moved from the normal, vertical position of a bed footboard to a horizontal position overlying the bed. The support for the footboard in the overbed position is of a fully cantilevered nature so no impediment is placed to approaching the patient from the sides of the bed, nor is the overall width of the bed increased. The footboard when positioned over the bed can serve as a shelf for holding monitoring and life support devices during patient transport.

Abstract: An easily assembled bed structure adjustable in length and width comprises head and foot members each including a pair of side posts and parallel slidably telescoping multielement tubular cross pieces extending laterally between and separably joined at their ends to respective side posts, a pair of parallel, longitudinally extending side beams each including slidably telescoping tubular elements and separably coupled at their ends to respective posts and longitudinally spaced parallel stringers each including slidably telescoping tubular elements and separably coupled at their ends to opposite respective beams or a third longitudinally adjustable beam intermediate and parallel to the side beams extends between and is joined to the lowermost of the head and foot member cross pieces or bracket members project inwardly from the side beams for supporting a mattress. Foot pieces depend from the stringers or third beam. The components of the structure are secured in their assembled condition by separable fasteners.
