Abstract: A bedside assistant for a person in a bed comprising a vertical column that connects to the bed frame of a bed and an arm which is connected to the top of the vertical column. The arm can be rotated on the connection and swiveled with respect to the vertical column. The connection between the arm and the column comprises a locking mechanism locking one direction of the swivel movement of the arm and allowing a swivel movement of the arm in the other swivel direction.

Abstract: A foldable bedding foundation comprising a first section is hingedly secured to a second section so that the bedding foundation may be folded for storage or transportation purposes. Each section has a base, an upper deck and a plurality of generally L-shaped spacers pivotally secured to the base and upper deck. Upper and lower hinges extend between the base and upper deck of each section. Locking members extending through the spacers maintain the foundation in its erected position.

Abstract: A co-sleeper bed system includes a primary bed framework having a primary enclosure that includes a floor and first and second side guide rails defining an open top for receiving a primary mattress. The bed system includes an auxiliary bed frame having frame members that receive an auxiliary mattress, the auxiliary bed frame having a first support leg depending from the plurality of frame members. The first support leg includes a flange slidably received in a channel of the first guide rail. The bed system includes a crib framework having a floor for supporting a crib mattress and a plurality of leg hubs each having a truncated configuration extending downwardly. A pair of slider flanges is attached to a pair of inner leg hubs, each slider flange being slidably received in the channel of the second guide rail for removably coupling the crib framework to the primary framework.

Abstract: A bed frame connector is connectable between upper and lower lateral bars of a foldable bed frame. The bed frame connector includes an L-shaped plate structure that includes a straight body and an angled section extending outward from an end of the straight body. A pivot hole is formed in an end of the straight body and the angled section. The straight body includes two support blocks that project from an edge thereof intersecting the angled section. The two support blocks are positionable between and respectively abutting the upper and lower lateral bars. The present invention has a simple structure and a reduced manufacturing cost and provides secure support and smooth foldability.

Abstract: An all truss foundation unit, method of making the foundation unit, and a foundation unit kit. The foundation unit is formed of multiple cross trusses interconnected by bridging top and bottom side rails. This results in a flat surface on both the top and the bottom of the foundation unit. The kit is formed of a plurality of the trusses and four side rails, with the trusses and side rails being oriented together with their longitudinal dimensions aligned in a generally parallel orientation and with at least some of their flat sides in contact with one another. When the foundation unit is constructed, a truss locator guide is provided on at least two of the side rails, and the cross trusses are oriented in a parallel, spaced relationship in accordance with the truss locator guide.

Abstract: A bed is disclosed including first and second platform portions, the first including drawers and slideout features that are vertically offset to serve as chairs and a desk. The second platform portion supports a portion of a mattress and a panel for supporting the mattress. The second platform may include vertical supports flush with lateral panels of the first platform portion and may include laterally extending shelves and a horizontal support positioned to support the mattress. The drawers and slideout features may be mounted in modules positioned in rows to define the first platform. A slideout platform may slide out from a foot of the bed and may include a vertical panel that is flush with a back panel of the second platform portion.

Abstract: Provided is breakaway adjustable bed system that includes a bed frame and a breakaway system. The bed frame includes at least one breakaway member. The breakaway system includes a coupling assembly, signal mechanism, control box and alarm devices. The coupling assembly includes elements that selectably couple a breakaway member to another member of the bed frame. The control box includes a processing unit that, upon sensing a signal from the coupling assembly or signal mechanism that the selectable coupling between the breakaway member and another member of the bed frame is decoupled, provides an indication to an alarm device. The alarm device sends an alert to a user that the selectable coupling between a breakaway member and a member of the bed frame is decoupled.

Abstract: A combination bed includes a front frame, a rear frame detachably connected with the front frame, and a connecting frame mounted between the front frame and the rear frame so that the front frame and the rear frame are supported and combined together by the connecting frame. The front frame includes a front support and two front bars each having a first end pivotally connected with the front support and a second end connected with the rear frame. The rear frame includes a rear support and two rear bars each having a first end pivotally connected with the rear support and a second end connected with the respective front bar. Thus, the front frame, the rear frame and the connecting frame can be connected and disconnected so that the combination bed is assembled and disassembled easily and quickly.

Abstract: A pedestal bed base uses four corner assemblies to connect side and end members without the need for fasteners or tools. Each corner assembly comprises only two plastic pieces which may be secured to the side and end members of the pedestal bed base frame in a snap-fit manner and secured to each other. The corner assemblies enable a person to assemble the pedestal bed base quicker and less expensively than if such assembler had to use tools.

Abstract: Provided is breakaway adjustable bed system that includes a bed frame and a breakaway system. The bed frame includes at least one breakaway member. The breakaway system includes a coupling assembly, signal mechanism, control box and alarm devices. The coupling assembly includes elements that selectably couple a breakaway member to another member of the bed frame. The control box includes a processing unit that, upon sensing a signal from the coupling assembly or signal mechanism that the selectable coupling between the breakaway member and another member of the bed frame is decoupled, provides an indication to an alarm device. A bracket with quick-release coupler is provided at each of the two spaced locations on the side of one rail of the first bed, and a bracket with a mating quick-release coupler is provided on the end of each rail of the second bed for perpendicular connection of the rails of the second bed to the one rail of the first bed. In one embodiment, a stud is formed on each bracket on the rail of the first bed to engage a hook on an L-shaped bracket on the end of a corresponding rail of the second bed.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a molded bed having a contoured sleeping surface surrounded by a liquid barrier. The sleeping surface having a plurality of channels formed therein terminating at a plurality of drains extending through the bed to direct loose liquid on the sleeping surface through a drain. The bed further comprising a means for attaching the bed to a floor and a tamper resistance glide assembly inserted in a foot on the bed, the glide comprising a floor engaging pad having a support shaft extending there from, a traveler on the support shaft. The traveler fixed in a glide pocket in the foot. The pad traversing axially in the glide pocket to orient the sleeping surface.

A connection portion connects a plurality of positioning blocks to the fabric member and the positioning blocks are corresponding to the assembly space of each vertical tube. Thereby positioning blocks are mounted into the assembly space from one end of the vertical tube and the connection portion is extending outward through the narrow opening of the vertical tube. Each positioning block is unable to be released from the assembly space axially due to that the outside diameter of the positioning block is larger than the width of the narrow opening. Thus the fabric member and each vertical tube are connected firmly.

Abstract: A bed base and bed base kit includes four side members, each being symmetrical about its longitudinal axis. The side members are assembled into a rectangular structure with the members positioned to stand vertically upright on their edges. Opposed side members are of the same length and are connected at adjacent ends by a two-component connector. A first component of the connector is attached to the opposed ends of each one of a first pair of opposing side members and a second component is attached to the opposed ends of each one a second pair of opposing side members. The second components are offset from the longitudinal axis of the one side member to which they re attached. Thus, when the side members are assembled to form the rectangular structure, the respective edges of the side members are substantially flush with each other.

Abstract: A folding mattress support system replaces both a conventional box spring and the bed frame with rails. The mattress support system is lighter, quieter and easier to transport, and also provides more storage space beneath the mattress. The mattress support system includes bed frame assemblies, central connecting bars, edge attachments and a bed skirt. Leg brackets fold out from the bed frame assemblies, which themselves unfold in the middle. Central connecting bars connect inner side edges of the bed frame assemblies. Plastic edge attachments are attached at outer corners of the bed frame assemblies and hold a bed skirt taught around the frame assemblies when the frame assemblies are standing on the extended leg brackets. A mattress is then placed on top of the assembled mattress support system. Optionally, metal edge attachments at the head corners of the mattress support system both hold the bed skirt and support a headboard.

Retaining members which are used to secure the cross support members in position extend from opposing sides of the tubular side rail pair. The retaining members and the cross support members interlock via a releasable joint mechanism. The position of the releasable joint mechanism can vary to allow for adjustability in the cross support length to accommodate mattresses of different sizes.

The side and end frames telescopingly attach to the ends of upper and lower rounded corner rails. The insides of the side frames carry tubular upright fittings for increasing vertical rigidity. These fittings also provide upwardly opening tubular sleeves that receive right angle corner connectors on the ends of spaced apart and parallel horizontal slats that traverse the bed frame from end to end when assembled by a user. Separate upright rigid legs with feet on the bottom are slidably attached to downwardly opening tubular sleeves on the underside of the assembled frame structure to elevate the assembled bed foundation above the floor.

One of the structural members has a wedge and the other of the structural members has a cavity formed in a receiver. The wedge has a plurality of exterior surfaces that contact with a plurality of interior surfaces formed in the cavity. There may be four interior and exterior surfaces of the wedge and receiver and at least two of the surfaces taper inwardly in the downward direction. The interfitting of the wedge into the receiver make a solid connection that is enhanced by weight of the bedding positioned thereon. Abstract: A bracket system for attaching a headboard to a bed foundation. The bracket system includes a foundation bracket affixed to the bed foundation and a slide bracket affixed to the headboard. Each of the brackets is generally U-shaped having a pair of side plates extending outwardly therefrom. The dimensions and spacing of the side plates enables one bracket to interfit or nest within the other bracket. A securing device passes through both the foundation bracket and the slide bracket to secure the brackets together and affix the headboard to the bed foundation. In an alternate embodiment, the foundation brackets have a lower plate and side plates extending upwardly therefrom and are affixed to the head corners of the bed foundation. The slide bracket is affixed to the headboard and then to the directly to the bed foundation through the foundation bracket. In a further embodiment, the foundation bracket is eliminated.

Abstract: End portions of a pair of crossbar bed frame members are detachably connected by a locking mechanism including an arm attached by the pivot element to one frame member to rotate between a locked condition and an unlocked condition. One frame member has a first projection and the pivot element includes a second projection. A pair of elongated slots in the frame members receive the projections when the frame members are longitudinally oriented and the end portions are overlapping. The end portions have openings therein that are aligned when the end portions overlap. The arm has a portion that is inserted in the aligned openings when in the locked condition and withdrawn from the aligned openings to allow the frame members to be disconnected and separated when in the unlocked condition.

A plurality of lances are spaced along each of the second rails and are configured to extend through holes in the ends of the corrugated strips for easy attachment of the strips to the second rails. The rectangular frame may be further reinforced, and the stretcher springs supported, by a pair of stretcher supports that each have crimped ends configured to extend over and embrace the first rails.
