Abstract: A bunk bed system including a head board and a foot board assembled with corner posts and interconnecting slats including a modified mortise and tenon joint which includes a dado on a lateral face of the tenon in alignment with a vertical post channel and longitudinal pin channel which lock and fixedly holding the joint together. The vertical channel member cooperatively engages the dado to both fixedly hold the tenon within the mortise and to also hold the tenon perpendicular to the mortise.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a bed rail hook and fastener assembly for hooking bed rails to the bedpost of headboards and footboards. The invention includes a bed rail hook configured to slide into the end of a bed rail and fasteners configured to extend partially through the bed rail and through apertures in the inserted portion of the bed rail hook in order to securely fasten the bed rail hook in the bed rail end. The same or similar fasteners used to secure the bed rail hook may also be oriented in the bedpost in a manner allowing downwardly extending hooks of the bed rail hook to engage the fasteners and securely hold the bed rail to the bedpost. The fasteners include a head, insertion end and a shank extending therebetween having annular ridges. Preferably, the annular ridges are frusto-conical and slope inwardly towards the insertion end. Additionally, a longer version of the hook fastener may be used to fasten a cleat for supporting bed slats along the lower side of the bed rail.
Abstract: The invention concerns a joining element made of metal, to connect the end face of a first beam to a second beam running crosswise to this first beam, or to another structural component, wherein the first beam's end section, which is to be connected to the second beam, is provided with an essentially centered vertical slot running in the longitudinal direction of the first beam from its end face that is to be connected, and with several drill holes in each of which a rod-shaped fastening means extending essentially across the width of the first beam, such as a dowel pin or the like, is disposed or is to be disposed, with at least one connecting flange protruding from the connecting surface of the second beam in the longitudinal of the first beam and to be attached to the second beam with a holding flange, the dimensions of which connecting flange essentially match the corresponding dimensions of the slot, and which connecting flange is provided with receiving openings each of which is able to accept one rod-s
