Abstract: A connecting arrangement for connecting a mattress support to supporting sides of a crib, includes stationary bars secured to the supporting sides, each having a first opening; slide bars, each having a second opening and mounted in sliding relation to a stationary bar between first and second positions in which the first and second openings are in or out of alignment with each other; a third opening in the slide bar and being in open communication with the second opening, the third opening being smaller than the second opening; and arms, each having one end connected to the mattress support and an opposite free end having a pin with an enlarged head for engagement within the first and second openings when the slide bar is moved to the first position and which is locked in the third opening when the slide bar is moved to the second position.

Abstract: A bed base and bed base kit includes four side members, each being symmetrical about its longitudinal axis. The side members are assembled into a rectangular structure with the members positioned to stand vertically upright on their edges. Opposed side members are of the same length and are connected at adjacent ends by a two-component connector. A first component of the connector is attached to the opposed ends of each one of a first pair of opposing side members and a second component is attached to the opposed ends of each one a second pair of opposing side members. The second components are offset from the longitudinal axis of the one side member to which they re attached. Thus, when the side members are assembled to form the rectangular structure, the respective edges of the side members are substantially flush with each other.

Abstract: A bed panel assembly includes a vertical bedpost, a bed panel having a connecting end with a positioning piece that has neck and head portions, and a retaining unit mounted on the bedpost. The retaining unit includes a base plate having a retaining hole with large and small hole sections and a first passage, and a retainer having two resilient arms that confine a clamping hole for receiving the neck portion and that respectively include free ends which define a second passage therebetween. The free ends are resiliently movable away from each other to enlarge the second passage when the neck portion is forced to pass through the same.

Abstract: An adjustable articulated bed manufactured in seven or so components for packing in three or so separate smaller boxes for easy transport. These components can be snap-fit together for easy assembly (and disassembly). The bed includes a bed frame, a power module or carriage and a bedding foundation. The foundation in turn includes a head portion and a body portion both of which are snap-fit securable in position to the power carriage. Pins releasably hold the roller assemblies of the power carriage to side rails of the frame for rolling moving of the carriage on the frame. A motor of the power carriage controllably moves the foundation head portion with respect to the frame and body portion. A drag link pivotally connects the head portion to the head rail of the frame. The drag link can be releasably connected at either end thereof or in the middle, snapping the two parts of the drag link together.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a novel device for fixedly attaching and securing at least one horizontal supporting tubular frame structure between a pair of vertically positioned end frame members of a bunk bed, whereby the attaching and securing device includes a pair of elongated tubular support frame members, each having depending wedge-shaped tongue members fixedly secured adjacent each end of the frame members so as to be receive in corresponding brackets fixedly attached to the oppositely disposed side posts of the end frame members. An elongated screw is positioned through each post and into each tubular support frame member in which is mounted a nut member adapted to receive the threaded end of the screw, whereby the tongue members are secured in place within sleeves formed in the respective brackets.

Abstract: A mattress support for a crib having a frame defining a space comprises four vertical brackets connected to four posts of the crib frame. Each bracket has a plurality of vertically spaced open ended slots with open mouths of each slot facing toward a centerline of the crib. A pair of beams which each have pins extending from their end are engaged with the vertical brackets so that at least one pin at one end of each beam is engaged in one slot of each bracket. A cross member engages the beams to hold them apart and hold their pins in the appropriate slot.

Abstract: A fastener clip and joint structure incorporating same especially adapted for use with thin or narrow furniture parts, panels, or the like to reduce splitting or fracture of the parts when joined and/or stressed. The clip is formed from a one-piece metal plate, preferably of annealed spring steel for flexibility, having a raised, central, slotted portion and a pair of end flanges for securing the clip to one joint member. One end flange extends outwardly away from the central portion while the other extends under the central portion. A stud on an opposite joint member is slid along an inclined slot in the central portion to draw the joint members together. In one embodiment, an enlarged opening in the slot allows access through the slot to the end flange beneath the slot for fastening the flange to the joint member.

Abstract: A coupling which permits the rapid assembly without tools, of furniture frame members into a complete furniture frame. Each coupling of the system includes a hook member formed of a metal plate and having a pair of hooks that can hook onto corresponding rods in another frame member to connect the frame members together. The hook member lies in a slot formed in one furniture piece, while the other furniture piece has a corresponding slot for receiving the hooks and has a pair of dowel rods which receive the hooks. The rods extend through the slot, in the case of a thick furniture piece, and lie behind the slot in the case of a panel furniture piece.

Abstract: Detachable bed frame construction for supporting a box spring and mattress and of a type embodying corner posts and lengthwise and transverse horizontal frame members typically comprising angle bars and, in this invention the angle bars have downwardly directed flange portions. Improved joint means are provided for joining the lengthwise and transverse frame members at the corners to the corner posts and to each other. At each corner there is provided a first hollow block or bracket member having an arcuate side wall coupled to a, for example, tubular corner post and the first block or bracket member has an extending lug for coupling attachment to, for example, the transverse frame member.
