  • Patent number: 8903591
Abstract: A vehicle can be controlled in a first autonomous mode of operation by at least navigating the vehicle based on map data. Sensor data can be obtained using one or more sensors of the vehicle. The sensor data can be indicative of an environment of the vehicle. An inadequacy in the map data can be detected by at least comparing the map data to the sensor data. In response to detecting the inadequacy in the map data, the vehicle can be controlled in a second autonomous mode of operation and a user can be prompted to switch to a manual mode of operation. The vehicle can be controlled in the second autonomous mode of operation by at least obtaining additional sensor data using the one or more sensors of the vehicle and navigating the vehicle based on the additional sensor data.

  • Patent number: 7007321
Abstract: A system for connecting side rails of a bed frame with a headboard and/or footboard. A hook plate is affixed to the side rails and has a pair of hooks extending outwardly from the ends of the side rails. The hooks form slots in the hook plates and the slots have forward edges formed at a predetermined angle with respect to the vertical. A receiver housing is affixed to the headboard and/or footboard and has a vertical opening with a pair of transverse pins that span that opening. The side rails are affixed to the headboard and/or footboard by inserting the hooks into the vertical opening to engage the pins. A lever arm, pivotally affixed to the receiver housing, can be pivoted to force the hook plate downwardly to forcefully engage and lock the forward edge of the slots with the pins.

  • Patent number: 6119289
Abstract: A bed assembly which may be easily assembled and disassembled. The bed assembly includes corner posts, bed end structures and siderails. A positive restraining attachment cooperates with the siderails and the corner posts to prevent unintentional removal of the siderails, such as by the application of force beneath the siderails. Crossrails are supported by cleats connected to the siderails. The cleats define a horizontally extending surface upon which the crossrails contact and an angularly oriented surface portion. A bore is defined by the cleat and extends substantially perpendicular to the angularly oriented surface portion. A pin associated with the crossrails is positioned within the bore and cooperates with the angularly oriented surface portion to prevent unintentional dislocation of the crossrails.

  • Patent number: 6105186
Abstract: A reversible multilayer decorative trim strip for comforters, quilts, and the like includes one or more decorative non-linearly patterned edges. The trim strip is removably fastened to the underside of the comforter and folded over the comforter's edge so that a decorative portion of the trim strip overlies the top side of the comforter. In a bedding arrangement, the comforter has an edge portion which substantially overlies an edge of the top surface of a bed, and the trim strip substantially completely covers the edge portion of the comforter. In an alternative configuration, the trim strip is connected directly to a top portion of the comforter either permanently or in a removable fashion.

  • Patent number: 5740568
Abstract: An adjustable articulated bed manufactured in seven or so components for packing in three or so separate smaller boxes for easy transport. These components can be snap-fit together for easy assembly (and disassembly). The bed includes a bed frame, a power module or carriage and a bedding foundation. The foundation in turn includes a head portion and a body portion both of which are snap-fit securable in position to the power carriage. Pins releasably hold the roller assemblies of the power carriage to side rails of the frame for rolling moving of the carriage on the frame. A motor of the power carriage controllably moves the foundation head portion with respect to the frame and body portion. A drag link pivotally connects the head portion to the head rail of the frame. The drag link can be releasably connected at either end thereof or in the middle, snapping the two parts of the drag link together.
