Brackets Patents (Class 5/304)
  • Patent number: 7503086
Abstract: A foldable bedding foundation comprising a first section is hingedly secured to a second section so that the bedding foundation may be folded for storage or transportation purposes. Each section has base, a plurality of wire struts pivotally secured to the base, an upper wire grid pivotally secured to the wire struts and braces extending between the base and an outermost wire strut. Plastic sliders help the braces move between raised and lowered positions. Lower connectors are secured to and extend between the section bases. Upper connectors are secured to and extend between border wires of the sections to aid in the collapsing of the foundation.

  • Patent number: 7437783
Abstract: A bed frame that can be assembled without the use of additional tools. The bed frame generally comprises a pair of spaced side rails, retainer brackets secured to each side rail, and cross support members extending between the side rails. Each retainer bracket has a base section for supporting one of the cross support members and an aperture extending through the base section. The apertures are aligned with threaded bores in the cross support members so that threaded portions of respective leg assemblies may be inserted through the apertures and used to secure the cross support members to the corresponding retainer brackets.

  • Patent number: 6564401
Abstract: A bracket is provided for use in pairs to secure a headboard to a bed frame. The bracket includes a first bracket assembly defined by relatively U-shaped pivotally connected first and second bracket members and a second bracket assembly defined by pivotally connected relatively shallow U-shaped third and fourth bracket members. The second and fourth bracket members are interconnected by relatively slidable first and second connector members of a connector assembly which can be fixed in selective positions of relative adjustment. The first and third bracket members are secured to a respective bed frame and headboard and the relative pivoting and sliding connections allow two such brackets to be utilized for any sized bed, be it single, queen, king, etc.

  • Patent number: 5862551
Abstract: A bed frame is provided with a base plate. The base plate has a fixed base plate portion secured to the bed frame, a hip plate portion and a back plate portion sequentially and rotatively connected to an end of said fixed base plate portion and a first leg plate portion and a second leg plate portion sequentially and rotatively connected to another end. The back plate portion is arranged to be raised by a back elevating mechanism. When the back plate portion has been raised, the hip plate portion is moved in synchronization with the rotation in the raising direction. At this time, since the back plate portion is raised to make an angle larger than that of the hip plate portion, the hip of a user is not held between the fixed base plate portion and the back plate portion.

  • Patent number: 5743672
Abstract: A headboard support bracket is disclosed that, when used with independent legs on a box springs, can eliminate the need for a metal frame for support of the headboard associated with the box springs. Further, the use of the bracket eliminates the need for affixing the headboard to the wall of the room, thereby precluding relocation of the bed without removal of the headboard from the wall. The headboard support bracket is symmetrical so that it can be used on either corner of the box springs without the need to resort to "right" and "left" were the bracket asymmetrical. The bracket includes indicia means for positioning the headboard support bracket properly on the box springs.

  • Patent number: 5740568
Abstract: An adjustable articulated bed manufactured in seven or so components for packing in three or so separate smaller boxes for easy transport. These components can be snap-fit together for easy assembly (and disassembly). The bed includes a bed frame, a power module or carriage and a bedding foundation. The foundation in turn includes a head portion and a body portion both of which are snap-fit securable in position to the power carriage. Pins releasably hold the roller assemblies of the power carriage to side rails of the frame for rolling moving of the carriage on the frame. A motor of the power carriage controllably moves the foundation head portion with respect to the frame and body portion. A drag link pivotally connects the head portion to the head rail of the frame. The drag link can be releasably connected at either end thereof or in the middle, snapping the two parts of the drag link together.

  • Patent number: 5111540
Abstract: Improvements are provided in a bunk bed which includes a head board having a pair of spaced-apart legs and upper and lower transverse frames, a tail board having a pair of spaced-apart legs and upper and lower transverse frames and connecting members comprising a pair of transversely-spaced-apart upper and lower longitudinally-extending frames. A first improvement is in the form of an assembly bracket comprising an apertured side plate, an apertured face plate securely-connected thereto, and a perpendicularly-extending ledge extending along the length of the side plate. That ledge also extends from a face of the face plate and is securely-connected both to an intermediate region of the side plate and to an intermediate region of the face plate.

  • Patent number: 4558968
Abstract: A connector of structural parts such as beams with a through-going wooden pillar is disclosed. The connection consists of a first plate having a hook and being fastened to the beam in a torsion free manner. This hook has an essentially horizontal supporting area at the lower end and at least one vertical contact area. A second cross-shaped support plate is disposed in a pillar and its vertical plate portions are in one plane with the first plate. The second plate includes fitting areas which mate with the supporting area and the vertical contact area of the hook. The pillar is connected by means of a wedge-shaped tenon joint below the supporting area of the support plate.

  • Patent number: 4501033
Abstract: The bed frame having a swivel bracket for headboard mounting of the instant invention provides a wide range of lateral adjustment for mounting headboards of varying sizes and types. The disclosed invention includes a Hollywood or other type bed frame having side rails. First and second plates having elongated slots are rotatably mounted eccentrically to the ends of the side rails. The plates are manually rotatable between first and second positions. In the first position, the slots extend inwardly of the side rails, and in the second position, the slots extend exteriorly of the side rails. Means are provided for limiting the rotation of the plates, for guiding the plates during rotation, and for retaining the plates in selected ones of the first and second positions.
