Abstract: A recliner chair bed includes a first frame, a second frame, a backrest, and a leg rest. The first frame has front and rear ends. The second frame fits comfortably and moves telescopically inside and outside of the first frame. The leg rest is attached to the front end of the first frame. The backrest is attached to the rear end of the first frame. The independent movement of the back and leg rests helps in achieving desired position for comfort. The recliner chair bed provides stability, can be moved on to any fixtures such as furniture and toilet and also can be converted into a bed.
Abstract: A sliding subframe (130) mounted to the derriere-supporting section (50) of an adjustable bed (10) is adapted to translate the rotational axis (110) of the torso-supporting section (40) of the bed (10) toward the head end (12) as the torso-supporting section (40) is raised to an inclined position (44), and back toward the foot end (14) as the torso-supporting section (40) is lowered to a level position (42). This mechanism reduces compression of the lumbo-sacral area of the patient during bed articulation.

Abstract: Convertible furniture in the form of a sleeper sofa is demonstrated without the complex mechanical mechanisms conventionally used. The seat is attached to a slide received within a slide support. A seat extension is affixed to the slide support and as the slide is moved forwardly during the method of conversion, for example to convert from sofa mode into the bed mode, the back pivots to lay on the slide support in horizontal alignment with the seat and seat extension thereby forming an extra wide bed. The seat, back and seat extension create a wide sleeping area, wider than that as would be formed by only the seat and back. A latch mechanism positioned behind the front panel secures the slide and slide support in the sofa mode until manually released.
Abstract: An improved seat-bed extender assembly for a convertible seat-bed. The assembly includes an attachable platform and corresponding linkage to allow conversion to a full-sized bed in conjunctive relation with a convertible seat and for operation of the platform independently of the seat.

Abstract: A reclining chair has a main frame and a supplemental frame telescoping therefrom. The main frame includes a foot section and a back section pivotally supported thereon and latchable in adjusted positions. The back section includes arcuate slots and the supplemental frame includes horizontal legs telescoping into the main frame and vertical legs connected by pin means to the arcuate slots in the backrest. Spring means bias the horizontal legs toward the main frame and bias the vertical legs upwardly from the supplemental frame so that as the backrest is moved toward the horizontal the horizontal legs are extended and the vertical legs are lowered against the bias of the springs.
