Abstract: Hydrophobized silicon oxide-coated metal oxide particles excellent in dispersibility in fluororesins, durability to fluorinated compounds and ultraviolet-shielding properties, and a fluororesin film excellent in transparency, weather resistance and ultraviolet-shielding properties comprising the hydrophobized silicon oxide-coated metal oxide particles, the hydrophobized silicon oxide-coated metal oxide particles being obtained by a process including a primary and a secondary hydrophobizing treatment.

Abstract: Seat material having a covering member integrally provided on a foamed material and a patterned portion of the covering member formed by recessing the covering member in a stripe pattern and a method for producing such seat material comprising the steps of preparing a foaming mould having a patterning protrusion for recessing the covering member in a stripe pattern and clamping the covering member onto the patterning protrusion by a clipping member which is buried by the foamed material.

Abstract: A structural component for upholstered furniture includes a three-dimensional frame consisting of a plurality of wires which are welded together. A flexible substrate sheet and an upholstery material cover are secured together with padding held between the substrate sheet and the cover. Clips either pierce the substrate sheet or are attached to the cover and engage the border frame wires such that the upholstery is fastened to the frame. Preferably, the clips comprise extruded plastic elongated strip members having flange portions which are stitched to the material cover and snap portions which snap-fit onto the border wires.

Abstract: A structure for a motor vehicle seat, particularly a rear fixed or overturnable seat, comprises a perimetrical frame made of a ring-like closed metal tube and a plurality of springing elements disposed between the front and rear portions of the perimetrical frame, and each springing element has a cross member situated below the plane of the perimetrical frame for providing anchorage points to which the upholstery of the seat may be fixed without requiring the use of auxiliary members.

Abstract: A cushioned toilet seat assembly wherein the seat and cover members are each fabricated with a pair of upper and lower base members upholstered about the respective tops and bottoms thereof, and wherein the covering material overlaps and is affixed to relative marginal portions of the respective base members in such a manner as to minimize abutting interference upon final assembly interconnection. The upper and lower base member pairs are integrally molded of a tough synthetic plastic material, and are each formed with a plurality of symmetrically arranged, cooperative plug pins and through openings for a snap-fit interconnection upon interassembly under clamping pressure. Marginal recesses are formed along the outer or facing sides of the upper and lower base members, within which outer edge portions of the covering material are drawn and secured as by staples to minimize bunching and thereby to provide for close interconnecting assembly of the parts.
