The armrest is foldable between a use position and a fold-away position and comprises a pad portion (11, 11?), an arm portion (13), a first hinge (15) having a first hinge axis and a second hinge (17, 17?) having a second hinge axis. Abstract: Multiple convertible furniture configurations adapted to provide multiple seating surfaces by interchangeable and removable support cushion units inclusive in a single furniture element. Removably self-supporting cushion seat assemblies are selectively secured to a primary furniture element as auxiliary arms and back surfaces, each of which has internally deployable support legs allowing cushion seat assemblies to be used independently wherein combination with the original chair sofa support unit increasing the number of seating surfaces and arrangement possible.

Abstract: The convertible furniture includes an elongate central bench section. A subframe is provided having an elongate planar member with load-bearing upright support members supporting arm rests or back rests extending upward at opposite ends of the elongate planar member. The central bench section is disposed atop the upright support members. Two lateral extension sections are pivotally attached to opposite edges of the bench section so that the lateral extension sections independently swing out from the central bench section to define a bed frame. Removable mattresses are provided for each section of the furniture. The mattresses are stored on the subframe and hidden from view when the extension sections are retracted. The frame ends are linked, overlapped, interengaging the seat frame with the back frame, enabling a simple conversion reconversion process from sofa bed to recliner. In recliner position the back frame tilts rearward on its end. The back frame is interlocked with the seat frame locked by a detent, retaining means and a second detent in a guide. Conversion and reconversion are effected by rotating the interlocked unit on to the back frame supports, disengaging the seat frame and back frame, then lowering the seat frame to the floor on the supports and interlocking the frames. For reconversion the process is reversed. A removable arm rest is attachable.
