    Abstract: A fabric covering system for use with a hinge element of a convertible sofa bed a system includes a sofa base and sofa cushions having rigid bottom rotatably connected by hinge means to the top of a vertical front panel of a sofa. The fabric of the cushions is positioned beneath a resilient longitudinal strip which is situated between the lower face of the hinge and the top of the vertical front panel. The fabric of the cushions extends past the axial of the hinge and between the top of the vertical front panel and the bottom of the resilient strip.

    Abstract: A convertible sofabed which can be used as a bed in its extended condition and as a sofa in its collapsed condition includes a frame which has a lower frame portion, an upper frame portion, and two upright frame portions as seen in the collapsed condition, the upright frame portions being situated at the front portion of the sofabed and interconnecting the upper and lower frame portions. A raise tube is mounted on the upright frame portions at a considerable distance downwardly from the top regions of the latter as seen in the collapsed condition. A border wire is pivotally mounted on the upper frame portion and supports a front edge portion of a cushion, while the remainder of the cushion rests on a deck resiliently mounted on the frame and serving to support a mattress.

    Abstract: A sofa bed has a stationary framework and a foldable bed frame connected to and foldable into the framework, the foldable frame having an outer section connected to and pivotal relative to a body section, the outer section overlying the body section in the folded position of the frame to form a seat. The outer section has a plurality of individual seat support elements extending thereacross transversely to the sofa back. The individual elements are spaced apart in a direction parallel to that axis, and each of the individual elements is downwardly deflectable independently of the others when a person sits on said seat. A spring edge is mounted on and extends above a front rail of the stationary framework to form the front supporting edge of the seat.
