Abstract: A foldable electric bed includes a base mount having a pivot portion, and a swivel mount pivotally connected with the pivot portion by a first shaft, such that the swivel mount is swivelable relative to the base mount between first and second positions due to the limit of first and second contact portions of the base mount. An actuator has a first end pivotally connected with the swivel mount by a second shaft, and a second end pivotally connected with a moveable frame such that the moveable frame is drivenable by the actuator to swivel relative to the base mount. When the swivel mount is swiveled from the first position to the second position, a position of the second shaft is lifted.

Abstract: A sofa that transitions between a sitting position and a sleeping position. The sofa includes a frame with a bracket and multiple arms and support bases that allow the frame to move from the sitting position and the sleeping position, and the reverse, by allowing the multiple arms to rotate and support bases to rotate about the bracket at attachment points where the bracket and arms are connected by fasteners. In some embodiments, a back support portion of the sofa is hingedly moveable into first and second positions to optionally reduce the vertical height of the back support to allow easier transport (i.e., in boxes and shipping containers) and movement (i.e., through small doorways and spaces) of the sofa, as described herein. In some embodiments the sofa has a space or notch underneath that is configured to be fastened or otherwise affixed to a platform, such as a bump out in a recreational vehicle, wherein the notch is configured to provide the sofa with a lower profile.

Abstract: A folding bed, such as a sofa bed, with an assembly configured to counteract the gravitational forces acting on both a rotation of the main panel in relation to the frame and a rotation of the foot panel in relation to the main panel. A transmission may be used in the assembly to connect the first pivotal connection, where the main panel pivots with respect to the frame, to the second pivotal connection, where the foot panel pivots with respect to the main panel. The transmission transmits torque from the first pivotal connection to the second pivotal connection, so as to counteract gravitational forces acting on the foot edge of the foot panel.

Abstract: A seating unit that includes a foldable bed includes: a base with an internal cavity; a foldable bed that includes a plurality of sections, wherein in a folded position, the bed sections are folded relative to each other and stored within the base cavity, and in an unfolded position, the bed sections are generally horizontally disposed and in serial alignment with each other, with a first bed section being positioned forwardly of the base; a bed folding mechanism that is attached to the base and the bed sections that controls the movement of the bed between the folded and unfolded positions; a foldable leg attached to the first bed section, and a leg folding mechanism attached to the leg and the first bed section configured to extend the leg downwardly from the first bed section when the bed is in the unfolded position, and to fold the leg under the first bed section when the bed is in the folded position, the leg being pivotable about an axis that is parallel with the forward direction.

Abstract: A convertible sofa-bed which is easy to convert between a sofa configuration and a bed configuration is provided. From a sofa configuration, a buttock-foot member may be pulled outward. Simultaneously, a head rest member and back rest member which are initially at a generally vertical position are traversed to a generally horizontal position. When the buttock-foot member is fully traversed outward (i.e., extended position), the head rest member, back rest member and the buttock-foot member are generally substantially coplanar and generally horizontal. This provides a firm bed. From the bed configuration, head rest member and the back rest member may be buckled to allow the buttock-foot member to be pushed inward. The buttock-foot member is then pushed fully inward (i.e., retracted position) until the head rest member and the back rest member are in the generally vertical position with the buttock-foot member and back rest member forming a seat.

A foldable bed frame having a series of foldable sections is positioned within a cabinet for storage and is moved through a wall opening to a horizontal operating position. Links connect the bed frame to the cabinet. Elastic bands slow the movement of respective pairs of foldable sections when moved between the stored position and the operating position.

Abstract: A combined waterbed, sofa and sofa table includes a waterbed frame, a sofa mounted on the frame and covering a portion of the waterbed, and a foldable table secured over another portion of the waterbed adjacent the back support of the sofa. The sofa can be removed from the waterbed frame and the table pivoted away from the waterbed to provide full access thereto. In another configuration, the sofa can be removed and reversed on the frame so that the seat of the sofa faces the table, with the waterbed providing a soft underfooting for persons seated on the sofa at the table. Accordingly, waterbed, sofa and table functions are provided, together or separately, in a single furniture unit.

Abstract: A rectangular mattress support frame has side rails formed of rail sections which are pivotally interconnected for movement between a folded seating position and an unfolded sleeping position. In the sleeping position, side rail portions projecting forwardly of the furniture frame are supported on a forward support leg and a center support leg. When a first rail section at the forward end of the side rail is pivoted upwardly, a linkage moves the forward support leg toward the first rail section, and this linkage also produces upward pivotal movement of a second rail section relative to a third rail section. The center leg is moved to a partially raised position in response to pivotal movement between the second and third rail sections, and it is moved to a fully raised position when a fourth rail section at the rear end of the side rail moves from a generally horizontal position to a generally vertical position.
