Said bed board comprises middle longitudinal plates (4, 9), left and right side plates (49) and a head plate and a foot plate at the both ends of the bed. The middle longitudinal plates (4, 9) and one of the side plates (49) turned up may form an “L” figure. The left and right side plates (49) are respectively composed of a side pillow plate (1), a hand laid plate (18) and a hip leaning plate (8), above three plates are disconnected one another. The side plate (49) is turned up by cooperation with a plate end shaft (15) at the foot plate, a plurality of hinge shafts (16) in the middle section of the bed board and a link shaft (5). The head plate and the foot plate are respectively composed of a centre fixed plate (2,13) and active plates 914) on both sides of the centre fixed plate (2,13), such that the bed can be narrowed. A monitor display (12) is mounted in the middle of the foot plate.

Abstract: A bedsore prevention mattress is disclosed, which can effectively prevent a bedsore of a patient who uses a bed or the like for a long time by circulating air while raising a portion directly contacting with a back, waist or shoulder of a patient. The bedsore prevention mattress comprises a plurality of air cylinder apparatuses each equipped with a vertically installed cylinder body, a piston rod which is engaged to each cylinder body and moves up and down, and a contact means which is engaged to an upper side of the piston rod and contacts with a patient's back; an air supply apparatus for supplying a high pressure air to each air cylinder apparatus; an air supply tube H which connects each air cylinder apparatus and the air supply apparatus; and a control unit C which controls the operations of the air supply apparatus and the air cylinder apparatus.

Abstract: A medical bed structure includes a bed frame. The bed frame is provided with a plurality of spray nozzles on its edge. The bottom of the bed frame is formed with a discharge hole and a cleaning set on the discharge hole. The spray nozzles are capable of spraying water for cleaning. The discharge hole is adapted to discharge feces. The cleaning set is adapted to clean the anus of the patient after having a bowel movement. The present invention provides a patient who lies in bed for a long period of time to take a bath and to clean the feces automatically.

Abstract: A Comfort Seat and Commode Device that is adaptable for incorporation into a wheel chair, an ordinary arm chair or couch or bed, a hospital bed, or any other means of convalescence or permanent occupation by the disabled, is herein disclosed. The device's framework supports a seat portion that is capable of rotating to provide an opening through which a patient or disabled person may eliminate waste. The rotatable seat is located in-line vertically with a waste bin and cover that comprise the commode. An actuation means is provided, which, in response to a command by the user, simultaneously opens the waste bin cover, rotates the seat, and elevates the waste bin to permit use of the device. A means of providing squirting action of a cleaning solution to cleanse the user after elimination, as well as a drying system, may also be incorporated into the device.

Abstract: According to at least one embodiment, an apparatus for continuous collection of human waste products is disclosed. The apparatus may include a bed frame, a lower plate having a container coupled thereto, an upper plate having an aperture defined therein, a mattress having an aperture defined therein, a mattress cover having an aperture defined therein and an absorbent pad having a bag coupled thereto. The apparatus may allow for continuous collection of human waste products while maintaining the patient in a comfortable position. The apparatus may further facilitate preventing human waste products from contacting the skin of the patient, thereby substantially reducing the occurrence of pressure ulcers. Additionally, the apparatus may reduce the need for the use of Foley catheters for incontinence management, thereby reducing the occurrence of urinary tract infections related to such use.

Abstract: A wheel chair with commode for a patient that coverts in to a bed is disclosed. The wheel chair includes an outer rectangular main frame standing on at least four wheeled legs, first, second, third, and four outer frame being connected to each other by pivots or hinges, a pair of additional wheels being connected to the third frame by means of links that prevent the chair or bed from tilting backward due to weight of first and second frames and the patient, a means for making movements of the first, second, third and fourth frames to convert chair into bed or vice-versa, inner frames being slidably fitted inside the outer frames, and a commode pan or pot being fitted under the main frame, wherein a cushion is provided between said main frame and commode pan or pot.

Abstract: The invention relates to a thermal insulation nursing bed which comprises a bed frame and supporting legs. The upper edge of the bed frame is provided with a meshed sheet body while the bottom edge of the bed frame is provided with a fixed thermal insulation bottom hood which facilitates thermal insulation for the bottom of the meshed sheet body. When the upper part of the body of the patient is covered with a quilt and other beddings, the patient lying in the bed will be kept warm. The meshed sheet body is also characterized in favorable ventilation and easy to clean. The invention, rational in design and simple in structure, effectively facilitates the solution of problems in the traditional nursing bed which is poor in ventilation. In addition, the invention also facilitates the cleaning of the nursing bed as the sewage can be directly collected and discharged through the outlet at the bottom.

A hip receiving section (7) is split into the left and right, and the left and right hip receiving sections (7a, 7b) are arranged so as to be slidable in the directions of approaching and separating from each other. To use a toilet bowl (20), the waist receiving section (12) is rotated upward about a pivotally connected section (14) at which the waist receiving section (12) and the backrest section (11) are connected and then the left and right hip receiving sections (7a, 7b) are slid in the direction of their separation to thereby form an opening. After that, the toilet bowl (10) is raised to the opening, the waist receiving section (12) is rotated downward about the pivotally connected section (14), and then the backrest section (11) is rotated in the direction in which it rises.

Subsequently, this invention allows a disabled and non-ambulatory patient to relieve oneself and rest by simply operating a control unit without nurse.

These sections of the bed may be raised and lowered and tilted. The leg sections may be moved independently for use with patients having one leg immobilized. The seat section includes two panels which part to permit a waste canister to be raised to interface with the buttocks of the patient. An audible signal alerts the patient prior to this action. The waste canister provides a directable bidet wash, and an air drying feature. Gelling material within the canister swells during the bidet function to cover and seal the waste. The entire canister may be sealed and disposed of.

Abstract: A disposable bedpan system for use with a patient underlayment that has a cavity in registry with the buttocks of a supine patient lying thereon is provided wherein the disposable bedpan is supported in said cavity by a laterally-collapsible hoop-like support. In the best mode, the hoop-like support has fulcrum extensions to provide support therefor from a horizontal support upon which said underlayment rest and markings on the disposable bedpan provide a tool to measure the volume of waste from the patient. A padded plug that fills the space between the hoop-like support and the top of the underlayment provides comfort for the patient while the bedpan is installed but not in use.

A pair of pivoting footboard halves or foot gates are operably mounted to the platform and retract with the platform to between the foot and head end casters. Downward forces applied to the foot gates when utilized as hand rails are applied intermediate the foot and head end casters.

A toilet seat (8) is disposed in the opening and has a somewhat cylindrical excreta guide (9) for reliably guiding excreta into the flush toilet (8). The toilet seat (7) can be tilted about a vertical axis by a lift (10). Also, the toilet seat free end is tilted upward so as to be in close contact with the hips of the sick or disabled person.

Finally, a bed pan is situated adjacent the U-shaped cut out of the bottom portion of the seat assembly.

The vertical frame is connected to a base which holds securely the seating accommodation. The base further incorporates structure to anchor the assist device to a heavier piece of furniture. The device can be operated by an infirm person with no or little assistance by another.

Abstract: A bed with a wash tub for pubes which may reduce nursing work loads and improve conditions of the patients during the washing. The bed 3 with a wash tub for pubes comprises a main frame 5 with legs 5, and a wash tub 21 for pubes positioned at the center of the main frame 5, a mattress 11, 13, 15, laid on the main frame. The wash tub 21 for pubes has a tub body 23, a pair of left and right hip supports 25 partially provided in the tub, a hot water supply means 29 which supplies hot water to a col portion between the hip supports and a drain 31. The patient's hips 2 are placed on the paired hip supports 25 and then the col portion between the hip supports 25 is showered with a hot water to wash the pubes of the patient successfully.

Abstract: A sectional bed (10) having a bedframe (34), a mattress section holder (16) attached to the bedframe (34) and a number of independent mattress sections (14) for support, removably attachable to the mattress section holder (16). A traveling frame (36) movably connected to the bed (10) and a shuttle (48) connected to the traveling frame (36) for use in removing and replacing each of the several independent mattress sections (14) are provided. By this means, the ability to independently separately remove sections of the bed (10) is provided. As a result, this present invention eliminates and/or alleviates four of the major problems associated with the care of bedridden patients; those being: 1) bedsores; 2) bedpan usage; 3) linen changing; and 4) patient bathing.

Abstract: A hospital bed includes a frame assembly having a two-part mattress support comprised of a head mattress support and a foot mattress support, with the head mattress support including a head portion and a horizontal ramp articulated to one another, and with the foot mattress support including an front portion and a rear portion articulated to one another. The head mattress support is movable in a horizontal direction relative to the foot mattress support and tiltable in a vertical direction while the front portion of the foot mattress support is tiltable in a vertical direction, with the rear portion of the foot matress support movable between outer and inner positions to allow formation of an opening when the rear portion of the foot mattress support is moved to inner position. An upwardly open toilet pan which is supported by the frame assembly is movable in position for vertical registry with the opening when the rear portion of the foot mattress support occupies the inner position.
