A second wing is detachably connectable to the second fixed side, and hingedly connectable to the base and capable of standing vertically, and an elongated bottom wing hingedly connected to the base at its end opposite the back wall, the bottom wing foldable to create a foot box and a top cover attachably connectable to the wings to form a box for holding a mattress. Alternatively, the combination comprises a chair having a footrest formed by folding the base, and a backrest formed by folding a top flap upwards from the interior of the shell.

The wire grid consists of latitudinal wires which contact and hold in place the uppermost portion of rows of coil springs, and longitudinal wires which are rigidly connected to the latitudinal wires, and which provide support for padding and upholstery. The bottom most portion of the coil springs are attached to a lower support unit, which is rigidly connected to the bottom of the hard front edge.

    Abstract: An orthopaedic modular assembly comprises a housing component of rigid material providing a first passage, a second component in the form of a lingual pad support having a first arm adapted to form a sliding fit within the first housing passage and a second arm extending at an angle to the first arm and adapted to conform to the line of the one side of a patient's mouth and a latch associated with the housing component, whereby the first arm of the second component is held within the first passage of the housing component by the latch and is slidably adjustable relative to the housing component to any one of a plurality of predetermined latched positions. The sliding lingual pad component is locked simply and securely in the housing component and is able to be moved forward in precise increments relative to the housing as treatment progresses.
